I have my 21 Bronco Big Bend, with 2.3 and 10 speed now set up to flat tow. I have been to three Ford service centers in MD trying to make sure I have the updates to flat tow. My latest software update is 6.1. All three service centers could not tell me what software fixes I needed or whether I had them already. They only provided on SSM and that was for ABS on 2.7. Sorry if it is posted somewhere and I can’t find it. Any information very much appreciated.

There are no updates.
The only one that may apply is SSM 52197 for vehicles potentially being stuck in neutral tow mode.
If this hasn’t happened to you, there’s nothing to worry about.
If you’re concerned about this happening, you need to ask them if the AWD module is up to date. But this wouldn’t technically be a warrantable concern unless it happened.

Just to clear up any confusion, all Broncos have an AWD module (that’s just what ford calls the module which controls the transfer case)
That SSM I posted was specifically for part-time transfer cases (non-4A) which you have. So it would still apply if the problem occurred.

You can go ahead and play with the tow mode without being hooked to your RV. Do it on flat ground and Chock the wheels. That way you can confirm it shifts in and out without a glitch and gets you accustomed to the process. The screen will indicate if it’s in tow mode and also when it’s not. And you can actually hear the transfer case shift in and out, same as when you engage 4wd.
