So I posted previously about looking into getting the hubby an Outerbanks. We narrowed it down to that but am wondering if there is any major differences between the '23 and '24. The '23 we are looking at is a v6 with a dual top, lux package (non sas) and towing capability. When comparing it to '24s it seems right on par with the same specs but is cheaper.

Any thoughts?

I could be wrong but I thought the 24 OBX doesn't come with the v6. IMO you want the v6.

Yeah, double check that the ‘24 you’re looking at has the V6. I was also under the impression you could only get the 2.3 4-cyl now. As an OBX 4-door owner trust me when I say you want the V6. I’d go with the ‘23 if the V6 isn’t available or move up to a Badlands/Wildtrack in the ‘24.

Can you fix the images? Which one is the 2024? I see one has 2023 at the top but the other images are heavily cropped.

The rear locker is a big deal, and is the only option that I regret not getting.

The 2.7l is a must for me, it is an excellent motor.

Luxury package was also a must for me. The cameras, adaptive cruise, B&O stereo, etc.

I think the images are all the same car by mistake. Same base price on all three.

What you're wanting, is exactly what I have. 2024 OBX V6, all options except Sasquatch, including dual top and 4.27 rear locker. Upgraded floor carpet as well (which you wouldn't really think matters, but actually adds to the luxury side of it a bit). I LOVE mine! 0% regrets whatsoever with what I picked.

That being said, the V6 and the rear locker, are like insurance on value. Since they stopped the V6's for the OBX during the second half of 2024 production (and not looking like they're coming back next year either), they're now heading to the rare category for the OBX. The 4.27 rear locker is important as well, as it will allow you to upgrade the wheels/tires more easily and not stress the drive system, as what was told to me on here when deciding myself. Plus, opens the door for it being able to really tackle the next level off road. May not be important to you now, but someday if you decide to sell it, the V6 and the 4.27 rear locking differential, will certainly speak to buyers.

Terms of differences between the model years? I don't think there is much at all. Certainly not enough to justify the cost difference now. I would go for the 2023 at this point and let the dealership take the depreciation hit. Negotiate on it though, as they're not moving very fast in this economy right now. If you go with the 2024, you only have 4-5 months left before it becomes "last year's" model as well.

One note on the Dual Top. I would recommend you make sure you are able to store them when not in use. If you have a garage and can do a ceiling winch, then it's a breeze to live with. If not, then be prepared to have a large item taking up space on the floor and potentially in harm's way if you have kids. The HT is not as strong as you would think when it's sitting on the floor.

Honestly, if it seems like the same specs as the previous year model, but is cheaper, why not go for it?

The Advanced 4x4 (4A) is not available as a standalone option on the 2024 OBX anymore. That option was a must have for me and why I stuck with my 2023 OBX. I can't see the 2024 window sticker to confirm the 2024 doesn't have that.

I think the 24 OBX does come with the 2.7 if you ordered or it was made before the 2nd build date cut off. I ordered mine in April, built in June and it has the 2.7.

What color are the accents in your obx? Mine are light gray, but I think the 23s were blue?

Right on, except that a huge thing left out in 2024 Is the Auto4wd transfer case.
