Do not buy these headlights. I ordered the first set in September 2023. By January they looked like this (set to be white).

I filed a warranty claim on them and had them replaced in February 2024. I will say the customer support was good when dealing with this. I had hoped this would resolve it. But.....

I've had the new ones 5 months and now they look like this (set to be amber).

So yeah I am over it. The product they are selling is defective. I asked to get a refund for this defective and now illegal product and they will not honor the 5 year warranty and only offer to replace them again. The "return" policy only covers 30 days which they claim is different than the warranty period.

So be warned these are a complete waste of money. Don't make the mistake I did.

You clearly didnt do your research lol.. Im on my 3rd set. 1st lasted 10mo 2nd lasted 2 weeks. Several people are on their 4th or 5th set. Im not sure what you mean by illegal as these lights arent technically legal to begin with. Theyre not DOT approved due to the color changing. 1 guy got them to exchange for the XB series without the color change. Pretty sure those are DOT approved. Not sure how those are holding up but I havent seen any posts so far.

They are DOT approved. Obviously you have to follow the law and only drive with the DRL white or amber. From the website.

  • DOT Compliant: Meets DOT/FVMSS108 standards for on-road safety (note: DRL color may have restrictions).

The illegal comes in when they of their own accord or by defect change to another color that isn't legal.

Also federal law (Uniform Commercial Code's Section 2-314) covers defective products. Even if the return policy has expired, if you've made reasonable efforts to repair the issue, they are required by law to provide a refund under an implied warranty. Fortunately they offer a 5 year warranty and federal law requires them to offer refunds even if they don't want to.

I'm on my second set due to the same LED issues. The new set lets water in on one light and the little electrical boxes on the pig tails fill with water. I've managed to deal with the leaks for now after getting hyperflash a few times from moisture, they'll fail again this winter. The next time I have to remove the grill to deal with the XRGBs I'm putting my OEM lights back in, glad I kept my OE lights.

Sorry to hear. Keep us posted if you can get a refund. You could always go the Small Claims Court route.

Yes, many other threads. Please vote on my poll here: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/morimoto-xrgb-headlights-quality-warranty-returns-poll.95668/

I was very close to pulling the trigger on these. They have so many advantages and improved performance over stock, but reliability is the most important thing. Who wants to replace multiple times including all of the required labor (your time of paying for it).

Basically 2 years on my Bronco, Alpha Rex, no issues whatsoever. On my Raptor truck, 4 + years, no issues. Great lights.

I swore I read somewhere they werent DOT compliant. This is good to know. I drive with an amber setting 95% of the time. When the colors went out I just set them all to 0 color and no drl. Not sure if you have your stocks and how you did the exchange but I dont have mine so I had to "buy" another set. They put a hold on my card. After about 2.5 weeks, cause I didnt have time to swap them and send back, the charge went thru. I emailed and asked about a time frame to get credited back and they said there wasnt any. I got them sent back asap cause I didnt wanna pay interest on that charge and they credited me back with no issues. Yes its a nuissance but I can deal with it... For now. If I have to do them too many more more times Ill see about getting the XB. I did the buy back on my OEM and got 600 for the standard lights.

I do still have my stock lights. They are on now because that red is just a little too illegal for me to feel comfortable. When I did the original exchange they sent me a new set shipped on 2/13, charged my credit card, I swapped them out the second I got them, shipped the broken ones back and got a credit back to my card by 2/26.

So at least in that case the support and process was surprisingly smooth. Shockingly so. My problem is now I've taken the front end of my truck apart 4 times for what is clearly a defectuve, sub par product. They know it's a bad product and are trying to hide behind their "30 day return" policy. I just don't want another Morimoto product ever.

Pretty typical for aftermarket stuff, you get what you pay for.

Really sorry to see that OP, sounds like a disappointing process. I’ve gotten to the point that I’ll only buy OEM head and tail lights for this exact reason.

Shame its like that, mine are similar, but as long as the headlights work, the glitching drls are alright, adds character. Hopefully you eventually get it resolved

If OEM headlights didnt suck ass, Id keep em. Im running ss1’s on my bumper for added visibility at night, less so with my Mori’s

If you can accept XB light style, you can ask for it as a replacement. It works for me.

I would expect that from a $300 ebay/amazon set but not a $1200 set from supposedly one of the biggest light makers in the US
