I am looking at a low mileage First Edition 4 door and am trying to figure out what advantages a 2024 model would have over the FE? I have tried to search and find any kind of list of what has changed each model year, but am not finding much, except for color changes or slight changes in packages.
what reason would you purchase a 24 model year over the FE?
thanks!

A 2024 badlands or sasquatch equipped bronco has the hoss 3.0 steering rack. The first edition will only have the hoss 2.0 rack.

Plus upgraded tie rods. Outside of that the FE had lux and high packages so you already have the bigger screen that came standard with the '24s. Did the FEs have the issue with subwoofer delete or were the B&O systems not affected?

I'd take HOSS 3.0 over a FE or Badlands any day. Sway bars can be disconnected at the trailhead if required. I am one of the unfortunate few who have a Wildtrak from early 2022, before the HOSS 3.0 were announced. As soon as the new WT's were put into production, my Bronco became outdated.

I've got the HOSS 3.0 and really like it.

If Ford were to release the First Edition today, it would probably also include the following.
  • Upgraded steering rack (HOSS 3.0)
  • Upgraded Fox suspension (HOSS 3.0)
  • Shadow Black Modular hard top
The upgraded steering rack has been mentioned a few times already multiple people. The community refers to it as the “HOSS 3.0 steering rack” because it was originally part of the HOSS 3.0 package, which was a Wildtrak-exclusive package introduced in late 2022. Ford refers to it as the “Severe Duty Steering System”

The Fox suspension wasn’t available in 2021, and was also released as part of the HOSS 3.0 package in late 2022. The suspension remains Wildtrak-exclusive and probably would have been included as part of a First Edition.

The Shadow Black Modular Hard Top was originally intended for 2021 as a standard option for the First Edition and Wildtrak trims. But release got pushed back, and is now finally coming out this year (production just started). The first Broncos with those should start being delivered in the next 1-2 months.

Not affected.

What color is it? If it's Lightning Blue I'd go for it over a newer one.

Samesies. The latest Wildtrak with Hoss 3.0 and Fox with portals would be the ideal way to go

If the price is low enough maybe, I see so many used at near new pricing. Consider the upgrades on the 24 models over the 21 that were noted above and that 25 models will come out soon. With many 23 models still on the lots, you might find a hell of a deal on a new loaded Bronco this fall, just a few short months away. I suspect Ford may even offer special interest rates on top of the discounts, just like we are seeing on F150's right now.

THIS is the only question... since you're not getting the real two-door. ;)

You just had to reopen that wound... 😂😁
I was seriously considering the 2 door, but with the dogs the 4 door makes more sense for us.

Thanks for all the info!
I am specifically looking at the Lightning Blue. I like that much better than the Velocity. And it kind of makes it a one off color, like my Atlas Blue Super Duty.
We don’t do any hard-core rock crawling, mostly trail running. So, it sounds like the HOSS 3.0 is the biggest difference and I’m sure I can upgrade from the 2.0 if I ever have problems in the future.
