I had an old BT OBDII dongle stashed away and the Torque App on Android so I got it working in the Raptor. Since I plan to do either the FP or Whipple tune l decided to try a few 0-60 runs. Yeah, I know, this isn't a sports car... and I prefer 60-130 for a better representation of hp... I also know these devices might differ by a few tenths 0-60.

I used Sport Mode, 2 Hi, Traction control on. Tried both power braking and not. I got what felt like good runs with some nice/occasional wheelspin into 2nd gear. My best time was 6.6 sec and I could get 6.6-6.8 consistently. External temps were nice, about 65 deg F and I'm at sea level. I've seen mags and vids showing about 1 full second better 😮.

My mods are fairly light, roof rack, RSE step sliders, bike rack and heavier wheels (stock tires). These don't seem like anywhere close to enough weight/rotational inertia and drag to reduce by a second.

Anyone else do some OBDII 0-60?

Any insights on my crappy times? TIA.

Were you able to see charge air temp? I noticed during 0-60 testing on an Ecoboost Mustang it got slower with every pull, the IC wasn't shedding heat fast enough.

Diet and exercise may help.😁
I could feel the extra weight from my rse sliders..very Suttle but noticeable.
Heavier wheels will make a huge difference

I don’t have a Braptor I can’t really say for sure or test it, but from what I’ve seen the times vary quite a bit, probably based on the launch.

The more willing you are to launch it harder, the better your times will be. The drivetrain is extremely stout. So if you really want to see what it will do, put it in 4wd, 2nd gear and brake boost it to ~3500 rpm then let it rip. I bet you’d be in the 5’s

Without an actual tune it’s always going to be pretty lazy 0-60. The stock calibration holds it back a ton.

Thanks, I'm not too experienced launching such a big beast.

Ha, always!

I highly suspect that in a blind test you couldn't feel no sliders vs. heavy sliders. It's about 3% of the vehicles weight.

Trust me, neither was I
Just ask @MWILD, I struggled for a while to figure out how to get a decent times lol
I haven’t made a run in a while because I’m fighting some misfire issues, but my last 0-60 was a 4.11
Should be somewhere in the 3’s once it’s fixed 🤞🏻

Caring about my BRaptors 0-60 time is like caring about my Mustangs off-road capabilities.
So you’d be happy if your Braptor had a 2.3.

Are you trying to equate what I said to what you’re asking?
He’s questioning if his Braptor is making as much power as it should by comparing 0-60 times. Makes perfect sense if one doesn’t have access to a chassis dyno.
You acted like what he’s doing is a waste of time on an offroad vehicle. So that seems to me that you don’t value hp in said off-road vehicle.

You did better than my heritage edition (8 sec) but not as good as my Oldsmobile (6 sec).

Well, I completely disagree.

What percentage of time does a real off road enthusiast and Bronco owner spend on the road? Similarly, what percentage of time does any Mustang owner spend off roading? There's nothing wrong with having your cake and eating it too...

Just to add my additional personal perspective, it's just a way to dyno on the cheap, although as stated, 60-130 is a better "dyno".

Are your times correctly measured ? I’ve gotten consistent 6.3 which was actually in line with MotorTrend. I’m sure with prep you could reach the 5.8

almost all car manufacturers are list 0-60 times not consistent with the real world unless all conditions are ideal

6-7 second 0-60 for a 5000# brick with oversized tires what do you expect?

Just because the Raptor has a bigger motor does not equate to faster
