Well, I've been lurking around this forum for a while - reading problems and so forth. I used this forum as a tool to decide if I even wanted a Bronco. I'm a longtime GM guy (still GM at heart), and was veryyy skeptical about buying a Bronco. Ultimately I think GM makes horrible marketing decisions, and fails to capitalize on a lot of markets that Ford is just killing it in - like a midsize offroad SUV for instance.
But enough about that. We took the advice of this forum, decided to go test drive one last week. Got it up to 85 on the freeway to see if we could handle the road noise (which is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be), then started our venture of finding exactly what we wanted - a white Wildtrack. I gave a couple of local dealers a shot at getting me in one before I found a dealer a couple of hours away willing to give me all sorts of incentives, and not sell me on some of the worthless things that they put on these Broncos from the factory (factory steps I feel are the biggest waste of $400), and give me a good price on my trade-in.
So we drove our 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss - which we had only managed to put 40k miles on since owning because I personally was too scared to drive it beings we'd already had to flush the trans because GM put the wrong trans fluid in it from the factory, and the 8l90s are already prone to failing - to a dealer in central Arkansas and made the swap.
I felt like we got a pretty decent deal all in all, and 500 miles in, we love it. Had the top off Friday, enjoying the fresh air. My wife and son have thoroughly enjoyed it so far.
So with all this being said, what modifications do you guys recommend getting on early? I did install some Rough Country e-boards over the weekend, which I am thrilled with. I wish I'd read a little more on the lift support kits, maybe even on this forum. I went ahead and got one of those from RC while I was ordering, and I DO NOT recommend it whatsoever, especially after seeing the Ford Performance kits (which I didn't know existed until today). Very chinchy setup in my opinion, and kind of a PITA to put on considering how simple it should actually be.
Anyways... hello fellow Bronco owners!
