Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has encountered this and found a solution. Video of the issue:

I have a '23 2-door Black Diamond. The passenger door window is loose and rattles audibly when the door is open (also sometimes when closed and partly rolled down, going over bumps). It's most noticeable when (gently) shaking the glass, but also when swinging the door open/closed. For comparison, the driver's side exhibits very little movement and is completely silent, even when shaken.

Worth noting: the windows/doors seem to be aligned correctly as far as making/breaking the door seal is concerned. I've seen posts about a procedure for retraining the windows stops, but this doesn't seem related to my issue. If anything, it seems the window isn't aligned tightly enough against the outside of the track (the black triangle just behind the wing mirror).

Ive been dealing with this for several months, since originally picking up the vehicle. It's currently with Ford getting a couple of paint defects (factory installed) dealt with, and they've said they will look into it. However, they've also said the body shop (who I'm not sure are really the people to adjust windows...) can't figure out how to do anything about this...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Last I saw, Ford is working on a fix. They said Q4 I believe
Ah! I take it this is a known issue then? If so that's good to hear... even if they can't fix it now maybe there's hope for Q4...

Yep. Been an issue since the beginning. There was a repair for it, but it didn’t actually fix it so they removed it. If you search window rattle you’ll find a ton of information on it.

Yeah I was finding that. There was almost too much info out there... was hoping someone might have found the magic fix.

Open your door and look on the bottom edge of the door. Under your door there will be two rubber plugs roughly in the shape of an oval. Remove the rubber plugs to expose the two bolts.

Lower your window. Loosen the bolts and adjust them to the most out ward position. Tighten the bolts and roll up your window.

Check for proper fitment and make sure window is functioning properly when doors open and close. Adjust both bolts until you find the sweat spot and the rattle stops. I usually have to adjust them every few months. Just make sure your adjust the bolts with the window in the down position.

The above is correct, it’s the best you can do, it helped remove a lot, but not all of my window rattle.

Interesting - sounds easy enough, if not a permanent fix. Any idea what causes the rattle? Like why it would be VERY present on one door and (so far) non-existent on the other?

One side was not tightened properly at the factory would be my guess.

I do a lot of wheeling and after very bumpy trails I will sometimes have to readjust one or both front windows. If I keep them down the entire time it seems to have less effect.

I started viewing it as just part of the standard meitnance that i need to keep and eye on to maintain the proper operation of the frameless doors ford decided to use...

Get yourself a deep 10mm socket (& ratchet) and lie down under the open door. Pull those 2 plugs out, loosen the nuts and push outward then tighten. It's SO easy, you'll wonder why you waited so long. The hardest part for me was getting up off the floor of my garage. (lol)

I did this and my windows still rattles when closing and over bumps. It's only *slightly* better than before in terms of the rattle.

My 23 4-door Badlands has the exact same issue and it’s driving me insane!!

It’s odd because mine is exactly the same. The front passenger door window is so loose that if you shake it even ever so lightly it rattles violently and you can just tell the window is extremely loose. It rattles in any position while driving, all the way up, all the way down, midway. None of the other windows do this and it’s interesting that it’s almost always the passenger side that rattles for everyone.

I’ve also tried the 2 bolts at the bottom of the door fix to no avail.

Has anyone found another fix for this. It’s getting so loud that I can hear it even when playing music and I’m about to lose my mind lol

I have this same issue in both doors! Any resolution?
