Found a pretty cool onboard tool kit

Thinking I have the tie rod swap covered with 21mm deep well,
Thinking I have the tools for a tie rod swap covered with 21 mm deep well, 1/2” ratchet and breaker bar, side cutter, ball peen hammer, adjustable wrench and zip ties. I may add a pickle fork, what do you all think?

What else would be needed for an inner tie rod swap, just boot clamp pliers and maybe a tie rod end puller? (if you don't want to damage anything in the process)

I’ve been lurking on your site for awhile. Do you recommend a tie rod puller over a pickle fork? I already have a pickle fork. I can still cut the boot clamp with a pair of side cutters, correct? Your site doesn’t show it, but do you sell just the Ranger or Mevotech tie rod individually?

So glad these threads are popping up right now since I need to stock up on tools for add-ons.

Also looking at wheel ramps, floor jack and jack stands and an impact wrench. Probably going with Harbor Freight for all of it, although the Motley and BOXO bags look nice if pricey.

I’ve been lurking on your site for awhile. Do you recommend a tie rod puller over a pickle fork? I already have a pickle fork. I can still cut the boot clamp with a pair of side cutters, correct? Your site doesn’t show it, but do you sell just the Ranger or Mevotech tie rod individually?

A pickle fork is fine for removing a bad TRE, but I cringe at hammering on a good one you want to re-use. Just be aware that the typical fixed jaw pullers you can buy or rent at parts stores are a little short. The one I sourced cost quite a bit more but it has the length needed.

The boot clamp can be cut or the clasp can be pried apart. Needlenose, side cutters, screwdriver, pocket knife can all get that done.

I don't sell the tie rods separately because they are readily available at other auto parts stores.

Trying to complete the kit I have with just what’s necessary and hopefully nothing that isn’t. The tool box in my pickup is approaching 70 lbs and I really don’t want that for the Bronco.

Mike, gonna pick up your set for the tie rod kit, as I don’t currently have an end puller. Will grab in the next few weeks.

Also don’t currently have a spare rod, but think I should. I am stock with 35s, but having a spare until I upgrade my rack would just be smart money.

I am a firm believer in the pickle fork hammer for ball joint repairs. I usually just pack by vintage ball peen hammer I bought when I was 14.
