Oh, this was my 2nd time doing it myself and I had it down pretty well, but it still sucked. I think what I'll do next time is just assume I should pull the front wheel and the wheel liner. That should make it super easy. It's just stupid; that's what needs to be done. I mean, if it were a BMW or Audi, I'd understand having to take it half apart. But it's a Ford.
I just crank the wheel hard right. Hardest part is getting the filter out without spilling the contents.

Ford apparently updated my 8" to no longer have the low range back up cam issue. Yay!

Installed my KC Cyclone V2 Rock Lights. Took better part of the day, the fender liners are a total pain in the nads. I installed clear first, but non-diffused lens so they are super bright. Switched to blue lenses instead. We'll see if Santa brings me any other colors.

I Changed the oil and rotated the tires. I also once again heaped curses onto the Ford engineering team behind the location of the oil filter on the 2.3 and all the extra stuff that they put in the way of changing it. It's just plain stupid.
Not sure if you're reaching through the tire well, but I found it easier to just lay on the ground under the driver side door/behind the tire and just reach up to where the filter is located (follow the filter oil drain shoot and it's a straight shot). It is easy to not spill any that way when tipping it up after unscrewing.

I would need to make a 1 - 2" ramp to lay on to be able to reach the filter on mine. 35's plus the sasquatch lift means I don't have to jack it up to drain the oil, but I'm going to need a few more inches of reach to get to the filter. Or I suppose a hydraulic lift or pit would make it easier.

Did the 2 door rear seat delete a few days ago and now working on a custom raised cargo bed with underfloor storage.

Great minds think alike! I’d like to see your finished product, I’m almost done.

Hah! Years ago my daughter owned a 3 series BMW. At some point one of the angel eyes died. Thought it was at most a 30 minute job .. until I discovered that you have to take the wheel, liner, and half the engine bay out just to get to the headlight assembly. Plain stupid over engineered design.
