Hi, all. I've been using wireless CarPlay with almost no issues since April of '22. Last week Ford pushed two updates to my ride. Since then, CarPlay has been loaded with issues. Google Maps won't populate on screen (blank blue background behind my car/arrow) unless I open the app on my phone; the system does not respond to inputs (pressing play, skip, etc...has no effect in Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Apple Music); the Bronco screen/system requires rebooting (my phone struggles to connect, or it finds my wife's phone over mine and won't let me change, OR the screen becomes fully unresponsive even though hard buttons still work).

My wife and I are both running the latest non-beta iOS. Like I said, near-zero issues since taking delivery, but a ton in the last week or so.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Is there a way to let Ford corporate know? My local dealer shrugged when I called.

Thanks, all!

Some have reported issues after the last update.

If encouragement helps, mine was flaky before, and this update fixed it

You'll probably end up having to remove your devices and re-pair.

I got the blank blue screen of death last week. I didn't know that there was an update, I guess this explains it.

Mine wouldn’t reconnect to CarPlay after turning off the Bronco. It would recognize my phone but couldn’t find CarPlay until I restarted the phone. It started working correctly again after deleting the bronco from my phone and my phone from the bronco, then setting up CarPlay again. Takes a few minutes and it’s been fine since (knock on wood).

Makes me think that the update might have been interrupted. What time do you have your updates scheduled and does it have a strong Wi-Fi connection

Is there any way to prevent this from ruining my Broncos?

After the first update I had a grey screen, no album art for Pandora and loss of functions. Then after an update, I got the Pandora screen back with function controls, now after another update I'm back to grey screen and the hands free phone functions are gone or buried in a menu. The regular screen has mic I can press and say "call so & so" or "text so & so" and it would do those things and let me dictate texts, now I have to use my phone or go through the menu and type text, it's ridiculous.

Just to follow up, I misread the thread earlier. I haven’t checked to see if there was a Ford update at the same time but I’m almost positive my issues were due to an iOS update.

I have CarPlay issues with Navigation apps only. I choose a route everything is fine. Soon as I turn based on the route it seems to lose its location starts telling me to make a U turn and then says Proceed to route then about 30 seconds later it remembers where it is and returns to the original route. This happens with every single turn. This happens with all CarPlay navigation apps ...Apple MAPs, Waze, and Google maps. It also does the same thing with 3 different iPhones at various IOS versions. I did a Sync reset but no change. I know everything was fine in September the last time we traveled needing Maps.

Mine was flaky until I restarted phone again. Radio locked up the other night in middle of trip. Rebooted radio. And auto dim no longer works but is turned on.
