Went to fill up last night and could not get the gas stations fuel nozzle all the way into the tank, gets caught on the second flap. Tried multiple nozzles at multiple gas stations and same thing. Tried the fuel funnel from the trunk and same issue.

Attaching a pic of the inside flap/door that the nozzles get stuck on- is there supposed to be a cover on it that broke off? Seems there are tabs sticking out of it and the top of the nozzles/funnel gets stuck on the bottom one. The other pic shows how far in the funnel goes, cant get it in any further.

Any chance someone can take a quick of their interior to see if it looks the same? I cant put gas in my bronco, which is kind of an issue : )

Thanks! And ugh :( Car is 2 months old, filled it up maybe 5 times without issue. Curious if I can snip off the little tab at the bottom but worried needs suspected missing piece to keep fumes in.

Feel like this is missing (attached)

Based on your pictures sure looks like you're suspicions are correct. @flip may be able to confirm if it is a replaceable part.

So they had to redesign a fuel fill for the Bronco? Gas fills have been around how long and never break?

To think, the 56-year-old car that resides in my shop, which I've owned for 37 years, has never had an issue accepting a fuel pump nozzle.

Let's continue to make things more complicated than they need to be....

I checked out another Bronco and yep, there is a flat cover piece on the interior flap that must have broken off on mine and gone down into the tank. grrrrrrrr

Gotta insert and remove the fuel nozzle gently, yay for cap-less fuel fillers!

The capless filler in my 2011 Flex is much different than my Bronco, agreed. The first time I filled the Bronco I could tell it had to be treated with kid gloves, with the way everything looked and felt…not to mention the movement in the filler neck!

Emissions. Ford switched to a capless fuel fill several years ago. Dad's 2017 F-150 is capless.

Of course, the more complicated something is...

No joke. It's moves like it's held in place with rubber bands.

I’m aware, but never knew of an issue until the Bronco came along.
