Yup. I'm in central NJ. Placed an order for a 24 that was going to be for MSRP. Then found one out past State College that was better equipped than my order and under MSRP. Road trip with my dad to pick it up and then cancelled my order the next day.

People that are buying non-raptor broncos for over MSRP are either impatient or lazy at this point
Where did you find that deal? And how much did you pay? $5k under for a BD with SAS is probably near my non SAS BD order.

Stuckey Ford in Hollidaysburg PA

They just got it in and listed it for 1500 under MSRP. Then they let me use my mom's A/Z plan on it too, which brought it down to just over $55k

$300 cheaper than my '24 non SAS BD order and still had all the options I wanted (and keyless entry, too- which you can't order on 24s). Was more than happy to sacrifice the 12" screen

Kendall in AK has been playing this game for awhile. Sounds like almost nobody is paying it. It's absolutely ridiculous they want to continue this crap though. I'm glad I paid 500 over invoice in 2021, sometimes it's all about who you know.
Gotta love monopolies. Would almost be better off buying down south and driving it back up, but I don't know if I'd even be allowed through Canada since I never got boosted...

The frustrating part is I see zero effort from ford to address the shortage; they seem more than happy to stay the course and rise prices year after year.

What a sad thread for all but the OP.

The crap that people ā€rationalizeā€œ to justify their BS is astonishing but expected. Why? Because most people do not understand economics.

For example, the misunderstanding or over simplification of what supply and demand actually means, what contributes to it, and its effects.

Getting to the point, if YOU paid ADM, YOU are personally responsible for all of the inflation that we all experience. How is that? Well, because you were selfish and impatient.

If Ford didn’t have the sense or means enough to build enough Broncos, then you just should have purchased something else or just waited it out. You didn’t because you showed everyone; meaning, the government, the banking industry, auto industry, and retail dealership industry that you have money to burn, so they were more than happy to help you to part with it to enrich themselves.

So, why did you do it? To try to look cool? To Brag that you had the hot new ride? Hell, most of you don’t even wheel and are the same guys complaining about cup holders and the quality of plastics in a vehicle meant to get banged on rocks. So what was the point??

There wasn’t one. :cautious: You did it, so now everyone has to suffer. ADM, paying $1000 per night at basic hotels for a vacation you also got hosed on.

Look, if you did it, fine, but don’t try to give yourself rational therapy to make yourself feel better and expect the rest of us to not know any better. Just put your head in a hole and chill about it.

ADM will cease when guys stop paying it and demand better from corporations.

ADM is alive as long as people pay it.

I refused to play that game and got mine for $500 under MSRP from a dealer wanting $10k ADM.

Patience, persistence and self control seems rare these days.

They are starting to feel the effect, Ram is offering 6k rebates on 1500s, my father in law just got 11k off MSRP at Anchorage Chrysler on 5th Ave without any fuss. Meanwhile the price on a F150 is the price and they won't deal. Chevrolet is also realizing it's becoming a buyers market again.

They will start wondering why all those Broncos are just sitting on the lot soon enough.

Pretty much summed up your entire post before you even got started !!!! LOL

Since folks are so against free market shenanigans, I'm sure they will sell me their houses for what they paid for them, right?
I mean, my "right" to affordable housing should certainly trump ones claim to a bargain price on what is essentially a toy vehicle, right?

How dare you try to make a profit on one of life's basic necessities .... shelter?
The horror.... the outrage!!!!

Nobody has taken me up on the offer to purchase their house at their cost yet. GREEDY BASTARDS!!!

For whatever it's worth, I paid either below or FAR below MSRP on both of my Broncos.

Complaining about people complaining about ADM is a lot less effective when you brag about paying below MSRP at the end.

ADM on Raptors I understand, but people paying $5k more for a Bronco that they don’t just want to wait for is ridiculous.
Everyone has a different situation, different finances and different tolerances for wait, inconvenience, uncertainty and anxiety. What you think is absurd or unjustified or unfair to others is simply another spending how they want on what they want, when they want.

I "like" ADMs as much as the next guy, but the fact that they are commonplace simply reflects that a large population are willing to sacrifice money for some of alleviation of the occurrences above.

Touche'. I would have given you two "likes" on your post if I could. Such a great analogy. Instead of the two likes, just this reply.

I know this is a hot buttom topic for many and what I'm about to say isn't condoning dealers doing this, but it is the system in which we voluntarily operate in.
Ah yes, because there's an alternative we could "volunteer" for instead.

Option A: Purchase a bronco

Option B: Purchase the same bronco, but pay an extra $5k for it

... You picked Option B

My experience, so you can tell me what a moron I am, is this.
I mean if the shoe fits...

Before the 90s, that’s exactly how home buying was and most people owned a home and were middle class.

Although slightly different, your point is a valid one. Problem is, there are hardly any pension systems anymore and American’s retirement plans are home equity; savings too in many cases.

But we’re talking about a car. Cars depreciate like bricks in water. Your Bronco ain’t that bottle of Pappy you got sitting in that dark corner in the back of the closet, so overpaying is dumb money.

Whereas housing has only lost once, back in 2009.

Housing inflation hurts as well, because no matter your inflated price you want, someone has to be willing to pay it at the time you want to sell and housing competition is a totally different thing with vastly different variables.

So to my earlier point, people don’t understand economics. Sorry my friend, but you basically just illustrated that with the example.

Huh? Anyone (even our government) who finances/mortgages (deficit spends) for ANY reason is adding to the money supply and causing inflation. I don’t believe it has anything to do with ADM.

Let’s imagine you have a great idea for a VERY desirable product. You successfully build and test a prototype. The product costs you $300 in total to build.

Should you sell that product for $360 (a 20% profit) if consumers will pay $600 to $900 for it? After all, it was your great idea, you did all the work and took all the risk. If this was you, do you think you would be being too greedy?
