I can't say what I think about Unions, I'd catch a timeout here.

Noone be shocked at the next massive price increase across much of the Ford lineup.

Lmao 32 hr work week. I'd work 2 and half days a week doing that. People just want everything for nothing now.
That one definitely had me scratching my head… Why 32 hours? Only wanna work 4 days a week? Ok, then work 4 ten hour days. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I work 12 hour shifts for 80% of my schedule. I’d take 4 tens in a heartbeat.

Usually, that’s how it goes but the way things are now it’s possible UAW might not budge much from what they are asking.

It's called a starting point. Negotiation 101. Aim for the moon and then meet somewhere in the middle

In one of the other UAW threads someone mentioned that the 32 hour would create the need for more employees/shifts. More employees = more UAW members. Which = more money coming in to the UAW via dues.

This may be the height of stupidity by the UAW. Auto industry is still reeling from supply problems and government overreach. The average persons real wages are collapsing and they look like spoiled brats demanding a ridiculous amount of raise.
There is a fine line between getting fair treatment and just trying to kill the golden goose.
If this happens your 60k bronco will be 80k.
Oh here is a teamster mistake of overreaching their situation. Yellow Trucking these greedy bastards can't find work now. Gee maybe should have worked with the company.

The media of has way over sensationalized this. There is always a strike vote just before, or as negotiations begin. This is standard practice. I'm IAM in the defense industry, and we do this to show the company our members are willing to strike if needed. Also bare in mind what we are seeing is the bargaining units opening proposal, and is thier wish list. Your opening salvo will always have some pie in the ski asks. As someone who has participated in negotiations for our unit, I see nothing out of ordinary here. Both sides have a good idea where they will end up, but it's a process that has to play out.

"The only effective answer to organized greed, is organized labor." Good for them.
The only correct answer I’ve seen so far.

No one seems to mention the greed of the automakers, only comments on the workers.

One way to fix this permanently would be for Ford to ESOP the whole damn thing. UAW can then negotiate directly with themselves for whatever they wish. Your current model, SE Escape will then cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $100K.

The charade for decades has been we're all "partners" (UAW, Ford, dealers). It very obvious when this comes around every few years we're nothing more than 3 groups relying on one product to make a living. At least 2 parties in this relationship that are ready and willing to f the others when it comes to their own interests. I've never been on the f'ing side, just the one getting f'd by the other two.

No.matter what one makes a 46% immediate pay increase is not sustainable
Depend where in the pay scale you land. The executives have been seeing these type of pay raises for years, yet when the common man asks to catch up .... "Oh my goodness, the world just may end unless you give up some more so I can spread that amongst my executive peer group!"

Big Corp/Big Gov't and bad policies that harm the working class has essentially backed the general population into a corner, and now, the back lash is starting to happen.

As far as I'm concerned, Let 'er rip....

…and people wonder why manufacturing is leaving the US. Your next Bronco may have a Made in Mexico sticker on it.
Just like the B&O amp inside my Bronco...
