Replacing back seat bench in 4 door with buckets?

Hi- curious if anyone has considered or accomplished replacing the back seat bench with buckets?

Thinking I’ll have more room for kids stuff and it will feel more like a desert racer

Why not grab the seats out of a 2DR? That way you get flip and fold seats that look OEM. Just have to figure out how different the attachment points are.

Could probably use the second row seats out of a van too... They've nailed the seating configurations in those things.

Joking aside, I was wondering about this the other day too. I doubt it's as simple as "plug & play" with a 2 door, but an interesting idea. I even wondered if I could remove one side of the rear seats as they are, since they fold separately. Would be kind of cool to have a 3 (or 4) seater and more room for cargo... Not that the moar door needs more room for that.

Ditch the 60 on the bench and mount another 40? You're not going to have much of a gap between by the time you're done.

The rear interior width at the seats is wider because of the rear doors (and seating for 3 vs. 2). The 2DR has cup holders next to the seats in that space. However, it doesn’t matter, because you just want two buckets. You can place them with more space at the doors or between the seats.

Interesting. Not sure if I like how that looks tbh. I do like the idea of the 2 door back seats because you can still fold them down.

I wonder how much more narrow they are due to the 2 door wheel wells

I did this with my old 96 Explorer. I grabbed another 40% side and mounted in with a couple new holes. I added a center console though.

Same idea would be pretty easy to replicate in a Bronco.

Yeah I think this is the way to go! Wonder how much room we gain between them if we put them at the same width as the 4 door bench

Check out PRP, get all four seats matching and mount em in. I did that in my TJ and love em. Obviously it takes work but it’s worth it

The custom styles, fabrics and options (heat, lumbar, recline) make them a great option.
