Actually very reassuring to hear that the two I heard start to skip threads may not have been me after all. Both on the drivers side.I'm just giving you the gears. Out of 12 I had 3 that failed when I put the new pockets on. There was not much torque applied at all. I mean the remaining 8 tightened like you would think they should. I was left believing that those 3 weak ones were probably over tightened at factory or they were just Monday morning clips. Anyway I just replaced all of them. Cheers!
I used a driver on my DV8, and all the rest of them torqued up fine. The drivers side seemed to have been installed much tighter than the passenger, suggesting they may be a one shot deal if overtightened from factory.
Tricky thing to talk about in a forum sense as you tend to correct the people telling you it's you, as theirs are fine... But I'm not sure I've ever owned a vehicle that has so many fasteners that can't take re-use... The paranoid trouble I've gone to locating clip information, to find videos to avoid breakages, only to have them give out anyway.
Really I wouldn't mind at all if they were purchasable, but they make them as rare as hen's teeth too.
