Issue is resolved with software update for 2023 models. See TSB 23-2185

I just picked up a 2023 Badlands 2.7L and getting a check engine light issue.
I had 2 dealers attempt to address this issue but after a few days of no engine light, the check engine light comes back on and my fordpass reports this issue.
2 weekends now that I have to hold of from enjoying the Bronco. I'm hoping this is fixable and not something serious.
Any insight and help would be appreciated. @fordmotorcompany

Maybe have them do a compression check. Blow-by would raise that value.

What have the dealers done? Have they replaced any part of your PCV system?

The first dealer replaced the scensors. The second dealer did this.

Yeah there's a debate about 7 qt versus 6...bit 8.5...dang that is definitely too much!

Surprised the 1st dealer didn't notice the overfill.

Warranty work sucks, but at least it should be covered. Just have to take it back for further troubleshooting. 3rd time gets you into lemon law I think.

My issue was not resolved. My dealer is struggling to figure it out. I'm going to bring it back on Monday to see if he can figure it out. I called the Ford customer support line after they left a message but they never called me back..

I have the same problem at first they corrected a loose clamp but throwing it again I am still driving mine till I can get back into the shop.

Good morning! IF you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.

The first dealer replaced the scensors. The second dealer did this.

Draining more than factory fill is potentially alarmi g since the fluid has to have come from somewhere. If I recall, 8.5 is what the factory I seats into an entirely dry system.

I would want the dealer to send an oil sample out to see if it contains something else.

The other side of the coin is that this sensor is part of emissions and by itself co tools nothing other than feedback to you. Before PCV all crankcase venting was straight to atmosphere and now all games are recirculated back into the oil pan essentially. Thus unturned fuel can end up in the oil.

But a blown head gasket will introduce water and antifreeze and the color of the contami aged oil should be milky and quite obvious.

Can you continue ue to drive under any conditions that are beyond a bad sensor? Maybe but not recommended.

I am able to drive it and driving seems normal. They've already replaced the sensor. Maybe they have to do it again.

Hi folks, I have an update on this issue. Looks like there needs to be a software update for a new component that was just added for 2023. We'll have to wait for that update. Here are the notes from my dealer.
