Ok, that makes sense. I want to change spring rates to get a lower ride height. I have a 4dr Badlands with 2500 miles on the Kings and my driver CV is way to steep and is making me nervous. I’ve traded countless emails with King and they haven’t been very helpful. They suggested a 500lb coil but when I run the calculations I think I should be at 450lbs but also concerned about that being too soft. Here’s a pic of the driver CV for reference.

How much thread showing on the body? I assume you already reduced preload quite a bit?

Why would you want to run "regular coilovers" vs shocks made specifically for the Bronco?
Just for mounting purposes a coilover can be valved and tuned for any setup and their are many more choices of length say I wanted to get crazy. just a thought

So reading through the kings can be a little tall my dif will be dropped a little over an inch also I plan on going with a long travel down the road probably the safest bet since I will already have extended wheel travel would be fox

Fox 2-door and 4-door part numbers are the same:
FRONT Compressed Lengths: 18.79 Extended Lengths: 24.26 Travel: 5.47
REAR Compressed Lengths: 19.24 Extended Lengths: 27.21 Travel: 7.97

King:
FRONT
Compressed Lengths: 18.50 Extended Lengths: 24.60 Travel: 6.10
REAR Compressed Lengths: 18.50 Extended Lengths: 27.00 Travel: 8.50
this is good info. Thanks. Do you also happen to have info for the SAS stock bilsteins for comparison? Curious what FORD thinks the sweet spot for extended length is in the front.

So based on those Fox and king numbers it really looks like ADS hits the sweet spot. Not to mention they have real world experiences in the NORRA 1,000 on a Bronco as well as multiple Ultra 4 races including King of The Hammers race (not just tooling around but actually in the 4600 race) with rave reviews from the drivers of those vehicles.

No exposed threads or added preload. I netted 2.5” of lift over stock Sasquatch which is more than I wanted. Looking to drop ride height by 1”.

ADS is as follows:
Front:
6.6” total stroke
18” compressed
24.644 Extended

Rear:
10” total stroke
17.719” compressed
27.723” Extended

let us know if we can help with any ADS items. We also offer lots of custom setups if you choose to go that route.
Fox 2-door and 4-door part numbers are the same:
FRONT Compressed Lengths: 18.79 Extended Lengths: 24.26 Travel: 5.47
REAR Compressed Lengths: 19.24 Extended Lengths: 27.21 Travel: 7.97

King:
FRONT
Compressed Lengths: 18.50 Extended Lengths: 24.60 Travel: 6.10
REAR Compressed Lengths: 18.50 Extended Lengths: 27.00 Travel: 8.50

*These measurements, are going from the top of the top hat to center of lower bolt, or to mounting surface of bar pin.

DON'T let the longer travel fool you. More travel/droop is not a good thing in this case. We've been testing and tuning both Fox and King in the last few weeks and the Kings really are a bit too long in front causing the CV axles to bind, even with aftermarket axles they bind. This will lead to premature wear or worse. We will be addressing this. Fox lengths are not an issue.

We are also working on a Fox vs King comparison article. Quite a few big difference between these shocks.
Just wanted to see these numbers together...

Here is screen shot from kracker fab insta video watching ADS shocks.
I would like to know if the limit strap is significantly trimming the extended length of the shock.
But, even if it was limiting the extended length to that of the Fox, it would still have more travel. (according to numbers provided above).

Check out that CV angle.

*this is an ultra 4 car with front portals and aftermarket lower control arms. I can't imagine they would use stock axles.
