Skidplates for frame supports?

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows of skidplates that would protect the frame support arms, or if that is even a thing. Getting some good dingers on those bad boys.

Most of the transmission skids cover them, as well as there being one or two specifically for the braces.

I like that they are aluminum too (less than half the weight of the RCI ones).

there are reports that people are getting hit on trade in bronco's for frame damage with dents and bends in the lower cross supports. Dealerships are requiring new frames to fix. I'd like to find out how prevalent this is.

That sounds like dealers being dealers, just maximizing profit. I’d be shocked if they “fixed” anything like OP’s before they sell them. I’d like the hear about an insurance claim where they pay for a new frame for that “damage”

LOD off-road makes a transmission skids that is fair and reasonably priced. Covers the arms and protects the tranny. If you aren’t into rock crawling I think it will hold up fine. Mine cracked after one season, but in all fairness I used it a lot.
