Over-oiled the filter? How to fix

Last night cleaned my filter, some areas were still darkish so I liberally applied KN oil, wiped it down and put it back in

gas pedal had a bit of resistance, nothing else noticed, so after work, Im gonna take it out and dry it out a bit more to be safe. Wheres the maf sensor btw, gonna take it out and wipe it down as well.

Just soak in a bucket of soap and water for 15 minutes let it air dry, and re coat lightly. Piece of cake

It’s on the charge tube cold side by the throttle body

Cleaned it up a bit using water and paper towels, seems a lot better for now

ill do more later, but did the trick for now

Why do people put these poorly performing filters in, especially when you have the chance of issues like this?

There is a pool of oil in the bottom of your intake box. I bet there is matching pools of oil in the internal pockets of your intake manifold and coating your turbo and intercooler.

And Im already paranoid as it is. I was planning on replacing the intercooler anyway, Im just hoping its not gonna be substantial damage with this.

Didnt grow up with Dad in the garage, so its all self taught and stuff

Because! If you buy this $80 filter and $25 cleaning kit you don't have to buy $12 OEM filters that actually filter more debris out of the air!

I did it for the butt dyno and woosh, plus washability


Gonna replace it with a dry filter Corsa CAI anyway, so I just wash, dry, done

Washability is a downside, as you found out.

The "whoosh" sound is all of the extra particulate matter getting into your engine.

I still got the OEM filter, and replacing it next month or sooner with a dry one.

Just will it be fine this one time, or?
