What the heck is this !?

Got the email saying my bronco was at the dealership. So I drove up after work to check it out. As I was inspecting it I noticed this strange piece of plastic hanging down near the rear wheel well. I’ve never seen it before on another bronco so I’m wondering if this comes on all broncos and I’ve never noticed or is mine special ?
* like an idiot I did not look to see if it was on the other side

It’s a plastic splash shield, you’re seeing it from the side. If you had running boards or sliders it wouldn’t be as noticeable.

I cut mine off flush with bottom of the fender well

My 21 doesn't have it, so maybe they are a newer model thing.
