Damn it man, as if there wasn't enough things to go wrong with these racks, now they're getting hard to find.

This is a thread I started today. Long story short Ford is not shipping Hoss racks, if any one has info to the contrary please advise.

Have had two orders canceled in the last few days. Was hoping to have this done for Moab. ROCK ON.

I still haven't heard back from the parts mgr here. I'll see if I can get ahold of him today. The way things sounded, this is not surprising, and the Ford rep may have gagged him. I finally got my Bronco back from their service dept yesterday (which is a whole other complete F story), and checked the numbers on my rack/added to spreadsheet. Some were illegible cause mine has been installed for awhile now, but the main # is clear:

Ford Bronco Rack-Hack. HOSS 3.0 severe duty STEERING RACK and TIE RODS ...Ford Performance M-3200-WT 20230308_161438

They are out there, but it looks like Ford put a stop sale on them. Possible affected units DID end up in service parts? Still trying to find out, but that would sure explain it!

When I first tried to order my rack, it was automatically canceled, long before the recall. I believe that it is going to be very difficult to get these racks in the near future, and potentially longer depending on how exclusive Ford wants to keep these parts to the WildTrak and Raptor.

Ford talks a good game about modifications to the Bronco, but really they don't want you to color outside of the lines they provide. Also, this is why 74Weld should have made it possible to use the regular rack for parts.

Hard to tell if some bad ones ended up in service parts or not, if there are really only 13 out there in distribution as @NORCALGXP was told, Ford would be trying to get every one of them to MAP or dealerships unless they already pulled the ones to repair the remaining broken Bronco's still out there on hold.

Interesting Rack number, If the date theory is right, your new rack is one day older than Eric's bad one was...

Maybe they will if they can't get HOSS 3 racks, here's hoping!

Really glad I didn't turn in my 2.0 Rack for a core, now... Might need it as a spare!

That's what I'm trying to cypher...couldn't say what the # on my bad one was, It's long gone. My new one has been installed for about 2k miles now and hasn't given me the slightest indication of a problem...feels 100% right, so I am not super worried, I think it would have given me a sign by now. Still wana know for sure. The number of affected vins is kinda curious...351? would expect a round number to be a "bad batch", of course it's possible some of the "bad batch" are still in MAP's inventory, and will be disposed of. Hopefully somebody will at least tell us what we need to know!

Agreed.. I mean I can understand their desire to use the heftier rack... But when you look at all the Broncos made, this rack is only on late model Wildtraks.

Why in the hell would they limit their marketing... Especially the fact that they're cutting out 100% up the Badlands?

They should take in a normal steering rack, beef it up, and send it back and they would have thousands of potential customers instead of hundreds.

... The only rational explanation is that they are not focused on the public but people that are hard core like racing.

Absolutely true. When I called them last year about portals being available to the public, their response was sad. If I wasn't racing or competing, I would just have to wait. BUT if I was gonna compete, then they would be happy to provide a discounted set as a sponsor right away... they can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned. Go Dorman!!! are you reading this yet???

If they're holding sales on them, that could mean one of two things...either they need them to replace the recalled units or our racks are suspect too. Hopefully we'll get more info one way or another.

Also, this is why 74Weld should have made it possible to use the regular rack for parts.
Absolutely. It's not gaining mind blowing performance by using a 3.0, but it is excluding a whole lot of 2.0 owners that could have otherwise afforded that. Excluding entry price as a factor, components are readily available and easily sourced for 2.0 racks, so if a sensor or board gives up the smoke, they probably won't be hard to replace, and they probably won't be as expensive. Even racing teams would probably find more value in that compared to some extra steering torque in the long run.

I was sold on them using the 3.0 because currently it's the best of all possible steering upgrades, I don't mind throwing that kind of money around. What I do mind is not having parts available when things go wrong, and using a 2.0 for their conversion is sounding better and better in that regard.

Response from a dealer in Florida when I checked stock.

Thank you for reaching out regarding this item. Unfortunately the part requested is on nationwide backorder and the manufacturer has not provided us with a firm ETA. We would not be able to provide this item in a timely fashion so any order placed for the product would result in cancellation and a full refund. Our apologies for this inconvenience.

Wouldn't suprise me if the part # gets superceded now. You may need to start over looking it up off the 'fiche. Maybe @flip can shed some light? (don't let us put you on the spot, if it's something they don't want you talking about tho)

EDIT: PM one of us for a vin if needed
