Is this normal? Hitch sticks out

Hi,

Just got my Ford Bronco Wildtrak and picked it up yesterday after they added some things. One of those things was a hitch from Curt. I was expecting a hitch that was closer to the bumper and not protruding out as much, but this one sticks out a fair bit. Not sure it's a bad thing or not. On the one hand, it may be better for connecting a hitch. If it was closer in line with the bumper the tire might be in the way. On the other hand, would the excess protrusion interfere with steep inclines... Thinking steep residential driveways or hills/drops at gas stations.

Looking for thoughts on whether this is normal or do I need to go back to the dealer?

Urban driving, don't see any issue. Offroad driving, yes it will hit.

Ford hitch doesn't stick out like that but may be blessing to help you hook up to it easier. Also might allow you to open the back with a trailer hooked up. Issue may be that the trailer wiring won't reach.

When I first looked at the pic I thought you meant how the spare looks deformed.

Curt makes different length hitches. That’s not the one most people would choose, but it will work fine if you aren’t off-roading it.

Needed that drop to keep the trailers level and reach past the spare tire. Pulling my side by side is 2000 lbs or so.

Just depends, but mostly a pop-up and a small trailer from time to time

But ouch, I can see myself cranking my knee on the ball when unloading something from the rear hatch.
