No more 2023MY scheduling for hardtops, Sasquatch and LUX (reported by dealership)

If you give up Sas on Badlands you'll lose 4.7 gears (vs 4.46?) if you choose automatic trans, 5 35" GY tires, 5 beadlock capable wheels, slightly different Bilstein coilovers (supposedly a little less travel on the Sas version).

You'll still have front and rear lockers, advanced 4x4, sta-bar disconnect button, bigger differentials. All the good pieces to start a custom build.

4.7 gears are $400 each (front and rear) in Ford Performance parts catalog, plus installation.

I would choose aftermarket wheels, the price ford wants for the Sas wheels is way too much.
I'd be happy to have better tires than the GY's. They're not awful and have good traction, but they seem weak for off-roading.

I'm pretty sure I've seen people put 35's on a stock suspension Badlands without issue, especially if you're not going out on any moderate trails. If I was just looking for the look and/or starting out off-roading / overlanding, I'd just throw some nice wheels and 35" BFG AT's on the Badlands and call it a day. Once you get out there, you'll see which parts you want to improve for your use case.

If you were planning on modifying your Badlands Sas, I'd say the only real additional cost is the 4.7 gears and installation. I bet that is cheaper than the Sas package. And then I'd only be anxious on the 4.7 gears if I was planning on 37's (which I am).

I have Badlands Sas and chose Sas because I knew it would take a while for aftermarket to catch up and wanted to be able to do the trails I did in my previous 4x4. I wanted the extra height of the 35's to offset the low hanging bits of the Bronco.
I plan to replace most of the Sas package pieces (that are on top of Badlands) with aftermarket, except the 4.7 gears. (coilovers, wheels, and tires)

Oh, yeah. I keep forgetting the flares. They're probably more expensive than they should be, but not enough to change the $$ calculations.

this does not say much for the Webasto hardtop. If they are not going to allow hard top orders, something is wrong or in the works. Maybe too many are getting replaced because of cracking??? Who knows. It would be nice to have some real information on this post.

Maybe other (more persistent) people had better luck than me. I would be lying if I said I understood how the price program was supposed to work. Ford promised no increases for reservation holders due to model year increases but they didn't provide any information about how that process is supposed to play out. I didn't feel comfortable calling the dealer a liar when I don't know the details. For instance, I moved twice between the time of reservation and taking delivery. Did the name/address match thing disqualify me? Who knows?

Long story short, I would hate to see people bail on options in a bid to keep their price protection. Some of these dealers are not going to honor it anyways and you will be left paying a higher price for a truck you made a bunch of concessions on.

This is a lot of money we are talking about. Most likely your questions are easy to answer by other dealers or insiders if they wouldn't be afraid of repercussions of taking against chapman. Not sure if they have someone in the staff, or if they paid a premium but they do get a preferential treatment . The only reason they still have pending orders is Granger and Ford are not allowing order transfers anymore . This is coming from someone that picked up a TRX from Granger and one from Chapman and I have a Bronco order since 21 with Chapman

Mark, the difference here is the government can come into a company and force them to supply parts to them first. I’ve been on the receiving end of this shit show before. We had to bring a new supplier online because Uncle Sam came in to our existing supplier and forced their hand. So F-35’s still getting built over Bronco’s doesn’t surprise me at all.

Take about any other commodity - have you seen a shortage of appliances? TV sets? Computer parts (other than the crypto mining centric graphics card shortage). Hell, I was able to order a backhoe and Milling Machine from China and have them delivered in under 2 months.

I recall you mentioning this before. If it's true, I'll have near zero chance of getting a 2 dr Base, with or without Sas after March. correct?

Do you think Ford is doing this due to the slim profit margin on the Base? I can't imagine there's a shortage of vinyl steering wheels or non-tinted rear windows.

Literally switched to a base sas hoping to get it faster… Ford is making this frustrating and testing a lot of our patience.

Back in 21, I used to joke that my base Base would get built before most of the FE's .....

I saw the writing on the wall, one of the many reasons I chose the base build. I just wanted in one ASAP! Plus I told myself it would allow me to actually explore what works for me and what doesn't and I could then order EXACTLY what I want at a later date, after all the hoople dies down.
It's certainly taking much longer than expected. LOL

Turns out, I was right.

I dropped MIC and Tow and got an early build. I didn't even want a removable roof vehicle, but the Bronco looked so good.
Now that I have the soft top, I can't imagine having the MIC or MOD (I really wanted the MOD with my rapid red). I put the top down all the time. Takes seconds and you can do it at a stop light.
I would consider the MIC now that there's the skyrider (?) canvas top that replaces all three front panels. That would get me the convertible experience plus the glass rear window that flips up.
The problem with the MIC top is there is no place to store all the panels. I'd never go open air if I had the MIC.

I've seen quite a few people on here posting about receiving checks for price protection. I was told by Chapman that I only had a $250 certificate. If you believe the price protection flowcharts posted on here are accurate I was due quite a bit more. That's the problem though. It's my word (based on what I've read on here) vs the dealer.

I called Ford Customer Service and they were able to give me the code for my price protection and the total value of the certificate. The rep I spoke to (Walter) also said that if the dealer told me something different at purchase to call them back at that number with the dealer present. The Ford rep also told me that it takes 60 days to get the money so some dealers are willing to reduce the vehicals price by the amount of the PP certificate and wait the 60 days for the check to arrive and that some will not do that and charge the customer the current full price and make the customer wait the 60 days for the check from Ford to reimburse them.
