I would love to hear more about the acrylic disc you used. Did you buy or make somehow?
The disks are 3 inch and fit perfectly in the bottom of the cup holders. You can order them off Amazon. My original plan was to trim the ‘lip’ off the rubber insert and have about 1/8 of an inch of ambient light shining through, but the LED light from the light harness is really only visible thru the edge of the disc. At first I thought it was because the disc was clear and somehow the light was not ‘diffracted’ enough to be seen (the edge of the disc is ‘frosted’). I had some frosted window tape and tried that but it didn’t make a difference. I am going to try a bicycle reflector if I can find a 3 inch one. So far I have only found 3 3/16 ones and that won’t fit the cup holder.

In one post someone said the lighting is on when the headlights are on. Is it on when you open the doors also?
When you open the doors you get the default blue light. But now I do get it in both front and rear seats and the cup holder. I haven’t played with it enough to find out if it flips over to the last ambient light setting once you start the Bronco.

Thanks. I was hoping I would be able to change the color when the door opens

You could try trimming it with a small router bit. One with an angle will produce decent light on the edge.

Do you mean the rubber insert or the reflector? Do you think the reflector could be trimmed without shattering?

I do. Dremel make a router attachment or a small actual router with a 45 degree bit. It will definitely trim plastic without breaking it. Slow and smooth….

Great idea! Would you have a link? Not sure I need 20pcs. Thanks

All the lights (wire harnesses) are the same physical size just the wire length and connector were different.
If you are doing under dash only you need two lights. If you are adding the underseat lights you will need 4 lights in total. Yes ford calls them wire harnesses.
John(wire harness guy) last I talked to him had a better setup worked out where you would not have to change the connector on the passenger side under dash light.
John made me a custom harness that ran from the front ambient lights thru the console and out to the seats. No they still are only active with the headlights on.
If you are ordering the harness from John it would be easier to get what John recommends since I believe he has improved upon the harness since mine was the first. Even if you order it yourself he was great to work with on giving part numbers.
The cup holders John recommended are what I pictured in the first post. And does require trimming if your console and drilling and trimming of the new cup holder.
What if I'm okay with the current ambient light color *ducks* but just want ambient light under the rear seats added.

1) I need to call the harness guy.
2) Which of these products do I need 2x of for the two rear seats:

1. FL3Z-14A318-L: Wiring Assembly interior lamp
2. FL3Z-14A318-N: Wiring Assembly interior lamp

I do not have the part numbers for the non color change lights. Flip on here could help you would just need two standard lights. Get with John (harness guy lol) he will get you straightened out.

I'll add I'm fine using the color changing lights. It will be a nice future mod to keep me busy in winter months. So whichever of those to part numbers is the correct version for the rear is what I'd get. Which one is it?
