Hi,

2022 CO Black Diamond 2 door. 2.7 auto, mid and tow package

First time posting. Long story short. Additional protection packages added on by dealer. $1500. I was not advised of additional costs and did not check the paperwork thoroughly enough upon leaving dealership. Before I get flamed saying it was my fault, I will concede as stated before I was not careful enough. When the finance person attempted to add a 4k warranty I caught that. I stressed I didn't want any additional addons. We went through the usual stack of forms which is now on tablets. You sign once and hit continue through the forms. I didn't see the costs and assumed the were no addons due to our conversation a few moments earlier.

I don't want to drop names, dealerships etc. at his point. This was done late on a Friday night. I did not catch it until the following day. The dealership was closed when I discovered it. I emailed salesman, finance and manager but need to allow them time to respond and hopefully resolve this.

Now, my question is what if this is not resolved in a way I think is satisfactory?

If I get a survey from ford and am honest in my review, I think the finance process was underhanded to say the least, how is this handled? Does Ford communicate the survey results with the dealer? Am I marked as a disgruntled customer by Ford? Can that affect service and the like down the road?

Beautiful car, cool and fun. The dealer issue weighs on the experience but I'll get over it.

Thanks.

Bob

What exactly did they add on for $1500? Or what was included in the protection package?

I wouldn’t worry too much. Read the contract for cancellation. Once you cancel it they will probably not write you a check. They have to send that to where you got loan and that will apply to the principal.

I cancelled my dealer extended warranty after researching it it’s just a 3rd party warranty. Ford Protect Premium Care is a much better contract backed by Ford.

It appears the dent protection can be cancelled. The interior protection cannot be cancelled. It says some product was applied. I don't think anything was applied unless they did it in the during the 30 mins they had when they said they would wash it and gas it up. I have no brochure or additional work order. I don't even know what was applied.

Funny you mention that because I asked about FORD's ESP. Ford backed extended warranty was not offered by the dealership only a third party option through where service would have to be done at their dealership chain.

Talk with the general manager. Let them know you want refund and that you told the Finance Manager not to add it. Try and be professional about it and then let them know it was just a mistake on the Finance Manager end.

Ford Survey will be used as leverage depending on decision but don’t tell them that.

Another tip, google the service plan provider. I thought I was getting ford esp. The company even has the same initials as Ford ESP but was First Extended Service Plan. They are not accredited by BBB and have numerous lawsuits against the company for not paying out claims. No big deal, dealer canceled it for me and didn’t flinch.

Noted. I wrote nice emails. I find that its best not to escalate tension. I did not mention surveys or threaten yelp reviews etc.

Might be quicker than email if you just schedule an appointment with the manager. It only took me 10 minutes to wrap my concerns up and cancel addons.

When I picked up my Bronco they tacked on a $5K ADM. I was not happy and let them know it. I was never told there would be any ADM. I paid it. About four days later I got the survey from Ford. I lit up the dealer in that survey. 45 minutes after I hit send on the survey, the owner of the dealership called me and said that is not how they do business and he was sending me a check for the $5K plus tax. I got the check a few days later.

Appreciate the response. Have you been in for service or anything else and feel you were treated differently due to the survey?
