"Some grinding may be required on sway bar"? I mean @Dusty at ICON , is there any hints as to whether a badlands will require grinding? If that is so... I'm out.
From what I've heard, Badlands should clear the swaybar without any grinding, as the disconnectable Sta-Bar seems to be smaller in the area that comes closest to the coil spring, compared to the standard (non-Badlands) sway bar. And not that everyone with a non-Badlands will need to grind anything. But depending on manufacturing variances and alignment settings, contact in that area after moving the lower end of the coilover backwards is more of a possibility on non-Badlands than on Badlands. But I will stress again to please contact Scott at the email addy I gave above, to clarify any questions about the install, as I am not in Tech Support and he is better equipped to field those questions.

Is there compensation for this R&D elephant walk?

I'm not high enough on the food chain to make that call, but you can take it up with Scott. The offer we already made to buy back the kit if you're not satisfied with it still stands. That, too, you can discuss with Scott to set it in motion.

I am eight hours labor and an alignment deep into this BS… Do I get to double that to take it off?

Then, again, please contact Scott and discuss remedies. I'm sorry this has turned into such a headache for you.

I just went out and checked my aftermarket RPG tie rods for clearance issues at full turn. Not bad at all, I only run into hitting when the suspension cycles down quite a ways other than that it clears the rest of the time. I'm thinking of shaving some metal off those beefy RPGs and retain my ICONs. Greater Performace shocks that gives you more travel than stock, ICON design my have clearance issues but it will be worth it when all dialed in. A shorter shock and coil will solve the clearance issues but you won't get more travel out of your suspension, it will be like other aftermarket UCA that actually reduce performance instead of increasing it.

Unfortunately, I could not get the lower nut loosened per the instructions. The lower nut is torqued with 190ft/lb and I haven’t been to the gym in awhile. The other option per the instructions is to use your table vice grips, but I don’t have one in my little ol garage setup. I also have a non-SAS BD with the sway bar link very close to the coil as is. Scooting it back per the instructions will make contact again and I don’t feel comfortable grinding my sway bar end link. It’s not looking good for me.

My plan is to switch to the Rockjock swaybar when(if) it becomes available. Hopefully the design will work with the Icons.

I did get my brake line relocation brackets on today, so hopefully tomorrow I can flex out the rear and see just how much articulation I have.

You’re insane, but it takes all types. Do you know what you have your castor set at?

For me the removal of the coil overs I preferred removing the lower control arms (Crazy since I never had to do it that way before, but better than forcing down SAS CO and the lower control arm). So although all might look workable for me right now, I am not sure what it will look like after getting a professional alignment. I do have the Billet UCAs so there are extra adjustments that might actually save me from further headaches. I am crazy and I am also use to companies afraid of going too radical in designing because of these types of risks involved. ICON made performance the main priority and took a high risk for the failed launch. I was going to go with KINGs but not their Bronco ones, I was going to go with a custom setup because I wanted extra travel, well ICONs delivered, and now just like if I went with the Kings have to make some modifications to make it work. In the end, it will be worth it. I can shave down my $900 tie rods at the expense of running the best coil overs for a stock replacement. I know ICON will stand behind their product even if this launch was not the best, they aimed high and failed to work out the potential kinks for various trims and alignment configurations (IMHO).

Please note that the Bronco is a spare vehicle and so I am not relying on it as a DD for now.

I went to the icon facility in riverside today, they added the fix to my bronco. I’m happy to report at full lock I am not touching the springs. I want to shout out to the team at Icon for the assistance, while I’m sure we can all agree this is not exactly what we signed up for, I’m glad to see them step up and try to take care of the problems.

Think you can get a brace or at least a sleeve on that?
I think a thin sleeve would work maybe even the chaos one. Broncobuster would be tight. I honestly am not going to brace, I’m content to let the tie rod break rather than my rack.
