I'm so appreciative!! I was reading the owners manual to try to get a better understanding of all the components. It's a lot of information to take in. Thanks 😊
My gut tells me that, once a tech gets a chance to look at it, it won't take long to isolate the issue. If it's just a loose connection, it will be an easy fix to get you on the road again quickly. If it is a faulty component (e.g., a module that contains semiconductors), it could take a while to replace the part, if it is already backordered. But you'll probably never know until you get it in the shop and a tech starts working on it, unless it's something simple that you can diagnose yourself (e.g., loose battery connection or harness connector).

Since you are trying to understand the components of the system, these additional attachments will provide a higher-level overview.

I appreciate the time that you've spent to provide me with this information. This gave me a better insight...much easier to understand for someone who has no knowledge.

Yup! Just called the dealership service department twice today and no answer, no voice mail to leave a message. The next closest dealership is booked until next month.
First rule of thumb when dealing with warranty repairs……don’t make an appointment with the dealer, just take it in. Yes, you won’t be at the front of the line, but it will get looked at. Appointments are for normal maintenance.

Mine is giving the same fault and my Bronco isn't acting weird. I'm pretty convinced it's the shutter motor TSB that's out. I'm perfectly fine waiting to take it in. I'm not about to go ruin someone's day by demanding they look at it that second and make other people who had appointments wait.

Hello! Just received my 2 door base model 2022 Bronco yesterday (2.3 -automatic). I ordered it at the dealership mid-December 2021. I received a call and a text that the car had arrived. I was unaware of the status because I received no communication after I built in at the dealership. I was surprised to get a call because the estimated arrival date was summer of 2022. I got home and pulled the car in the garage and noticed the charge system fault warning on the dash board light up. The car has 8 miles. I drove the car home, straight from the dealership. It's quite disappointing to have to figure out issues with a brand new vehicle. I researched the issue today and how I should proceed. The dealership service shop was closed so I scheduled an appointment online. The first available appointment is April 27th. I'm not sure if I should drive it until the dealership examines the issue.

Update: Took it for a long ride and I am happy to report that the Charge System Fault alert has gone away 😅. I'm hoping that this isn't an off and ongoing issue. Thank you all for sharing information and providing sound advice.

Your Bronco's embarassed to be seen in public with those tiny space saver wheels and tires. Get some 35x12.50's on it and it'll be happy.

Just kidding (sorta) - the battery is probably mostly discharged from sitting for so long. Get out out on the road and put some miles on it on a long drive or two, it'll probably be fine.

Mine hasn't come back, but it has only been a 200 miles. I noticed my voltage was high on the dash and couldn't figure out why till I ran Forscan.

Supply chain constraints (as I have personally experienced with minor warranty work) will likely mean your part(s) will have to be ordered and may take 2 weeks to 2 months to arrive at the dealership. Don’t worry about displacing someone with an appointment…..the dealer knows how to schedule it’s work better than you can.

Yesterday I was able to take the bronco to the dealership...here's the results. I'm hoping everything has been resolved.

FYI only. Attached below is a copy of the Diagnosis and Testing section of the Technical Service Manual for the 2.3L charging system. It's very detailed. I don't expect you to completely understand all of the topics covered, but reading through it may help you understand the types of things that your dealer might check.

Thanks for posting the service technician’s write-up. 👍

Congratulations! You got an experienced tech who followed the Diagnosis and Testing section of the Technical Service Manual carefully and documented his work. This is necessary for the dealership to get warranty reimbursements from Ford Motor Company, but it also benefits you, because it provides you information about the work that was performed, and it preserves a record of the diagnosis and remedial actions taken, if the problem ever reappears.

Here are the relevant sections that your tech followed…

Since the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) did not re-appear, hopefully the problem is now finally resolved. 👍

Now go enjoy your Bronco. 😎

I took mine in this morning for the same charging system fault message. They found a loose wire arching....They reconnect it correctly and all good so far...
