Just figured I'd chime in. We got our WeatherTech Wildtrak mud flaps installed and they make quite a big difference in rocks & stones. Which was/is a stupid problem to have , but a (serious) problem nonetheless.

I live on the dead end of a stone road, that runs into my 770ft different-kind-of-rock driveway. Just getting out of my neighborhood, the Bronco was firing off rocks like an submachine gun.

Anyways - maybe would have bought the Bronco-printed (One set has a physical Bronco horse, one set has the Bronco words printed) HD mud flaps but they're $450 each, so $900+ Tax and shipping for mudflaps. === Doesn't Seem Legit to me.

But the WeatherTechs were reasonably priced, installed very easily, and have made a real difference. I heard only a few stones today and the distinct sound of them hitting PLASTIC.

As a side, I also got their Front and Rear floor mats and cargo area liner, those are pretty nice too. Can't have too much protection.

Looks great. I like your slider / steps too! Which ones are those?

Also, I can see how the front flaps protect your paint, but it doesn't seem like there is as much need for rear flaps. Is that mainly to protect those cars behind you? Or does it also protect your own?

I’ve got the front mud flaps from Weathertech on a Badlands SAS (non Wildtrack selection per Weathertech), I’m not a real fan however install was easy and they seem to work for rock and snow. I will switch them out once something comes along that’s more pleasing to the eye. I also have the Weathertech floor liners and cargo area….highly recommend.

Some on here will argue rear flaps are a must to protect drivers behind you from flying rocks when you’re driving down a dirt road. What they fail to remember is most drivers won‘t follow close enough to get hit by your rocks due to the dust you’re Bronco is kicking up. At least that’s the case in the arid west so I’m personally not concerned about it.

Thank you very much! The rail/steps are Rough Country SR2s. Apparently there are multiple versions where the steps are all slightly different. I just kind of winged it.

So my Dad made the same argument as you- don't need the rear flaps. But I figured, any protection addition is good for me and others. And I distinctly heard the sound of rocks hitting plastic in the rear area yesterday. I figure anything can happen. And as far as protecting others- already, someone else's rock (not a Bronco but still) flew up and hit the front bumper and put a real dinger , I mean a noticeable scar, on the bumper. Oh well, it happens, better the bumper than elsewhere, but still. So to me, rear flaps, it's not very expensive or hard to install and just extra insurance.

As much as I'd like the HD versions from Ford, $450+450 for mudflaps === Not Legit. I don't care if they're heavier duty. When I think of mudflaps, I don't think of $1K.

For those that got the weathertech flaps for the front, did it come with any hardware? I ordered a pair and the box arrived damaged with just the flaps in bags - no instructions and no screws or clips of any sort. Reaching out to weathertech customer service as well. Since I don’t have my bronco yet (stuck in built awaiting shipment) can’t get under there to see what is needed to install.

Yes they came with screws, clips and a push pin fastener.

Just like Mike E said it came with all the hardware. You need the tools yourself but it came with everything we needed.

Hmmm… don’t see rear flaps available for an Outer Banks. Is a WildTrak’s bumper different? Looks like they’d work on an OBX bumper to me… 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you have SAS package they will work on the Outer Banks

Looks like these are just for the SAS package. Are there any options out there for a non-SAS Badlands with rock rails?

I Got sick of waiting for other options, so I installed Weathertech front flaps today.

Couple FYI's: The instructions are wrong as it states to only remove 4 plastic screws out of the well. You need to remove 5 for the additional push pin.

The plastic screws in the well are a bitch to get out! When it says apply light pressure to unscrew, they mean it. You basically get one shot to have it spin out of the sleeve or you'll be ripping it out with a pliers \ side cutters. I had 3 that would not come out, so they had to be cut.

All in all, they are fine. Definitely better in person than I was expecting.

Attempted to put a set of these on my Badlands non-sas with a lift and 37's today... (Maxxis Razr AT with -6 offset Procomp Rims, 3" lift and level) they're a no go on this setup, The tire rubs on the way in, and will attempt to rip the flap off on the way out, would be fine with 35's though...

I really wanted these to work too, but back on the hunt....

Fortunately the Razrs don't throw rocks the way the Goodyears do, But I still coated my door handles with Ice this winter.

I think it will work? On the website it only lists Wildtrak or not, as Wildtrak defaults to SAS for Rock Rails. I assume they would just be a little lower on 33's. I don't want to steer you wrong though.

I’m keeping my order. I’ll check it out. Maybe use the hardware with some generic flat ones somehow.
Keep us posted.. I’d like to see them installed and used to see the protection or not..

I ordered some just for the heck of it. I'll withhold final judgment until I see them on my WT with tube steps. If they look like crap, I'll ditch them. At least there's no drilling involved.

I'll post pics for those interested.
Awesome!
