>. So, they will be shipping the cars now (the dealers have to sign agreements to accept the cars "as is" and then the dealers bear the insurance costs). This will hopefully save them time and money over the coming months and ease the pain of shipping.

So have dealers been contacted? Mine hasn't and I haven't seen one post where someone has confirmed that dealers know anything about this plan. I'm not disregarding what you're saying I just want to have some confirmation on it.
My salesman friend at our local dealer told me about this last Wednesday, so dealers should have already been aware of it. But, it’s possible that not all dealers will be participating in this. Mine is a large dealer with a lot of empty parking spaces right now. He told me that Ford would be shipping them a lot of vehicles and they would be responsible for installing the missing modules. What he doesn’t have is details about which models will be involved or how this is all going to work sales-wise. Right now, they’re waiting for more info and a list of VINs. He also says that even though Broncos haven’t specifically been mentioned, he feels pretty certain that they will be. We shall see…

I honestly don't care at this point.
I just want the vehicle so I can modify.
Body, top, seats, engine, steering wheel in working order.
I would think that's how they all got to ice mountain?

So, us buyers will be getting discounts for all this inconvenience, right? What, we have to pay OVER the MSRP depending on the dealer? This is a real bang up idea.

My Squatch arrived last weekend. The dealer pointed out that, because of the chip issue, my climate control knobs do not show the digital temp setting that earlier ones did. Temp still displays on the dash screen.

No biggie.

Yeah I've read all that and it sounds nice, but that doesn't stop the heat soak the turbochargers get when the engine is shut down...coolant stops moving and oil pressure and flow stops or drops.
(Wonder if that's why some othe F150s have had turbocharger issues?)
Then there's the engine crank berrings and rod berrings too.

No amount of defending this eco start stop feature will convince me its worth the extra crap necessary to run it, or the wear it creates.

And the lag is downright borderline dangerous!
To each their own, and you can turn it off with a button press, but it's not causing all that imagined wear and tear, and it does save fuel in a vehicle that already gets crappy mileage. I've had auto start-stop in 5 cars since 2008 (including the Bronco), and each one gets better with the algorithm and the smoothness. 70% of new cars in Europe in 2014 had auto stop-start, and I believe 100% will in 2022.

I just checked with my Dealer Norm Reeves Cerritos. They confirmed they been receiving F150 without Chips and are fully drivable. They thinks Ford might start doing that with the Bronco as well. Lets Keep our Fingers Cross.

At this Point i don’t care if Ford just sends me the Bronco with no windows no doors or wheels I don’t Care I’ll take it.

Roll up windows and a stick shift is just fine with me. I’ve been looking over my shoulder to back up for thirty five years!! Keep it simple, Ford!!!!
But really, does anyone think the automakers will learn a lesson here and produce critical components in THIS COUNTRY where they can control inventory and quality or will they continue to rely on third world country cheap labor?

Send it! I'll gladly accept my Bronco in this condition. Put it all down on the due bill, get me my Bronco, see ya when the part arrives. Could Ford have actually taken to doing the right thing, IMO, here? Let's hope!!!!!
If start/stop is missing, I’ll shake the dealers hand and buy lunch!!

So they won’t deliver comfort and convenience features? Will be interesting to see what these vehicles won’t do. Hopefully the windows roll down šŸ˜‚

There is no certainty on the situation. It could be a small % of vehicles through out the line up that are able to be sent minus the modules, while the rest continue to sit. If your vehicle shows up at the dealer incomplete, you'll have to choose the bridge you cross. Take it or let the dealer have it. There are people who get completed broncos and get slapped with 10K ADM. Personally I set ground rules for myself, I won't wait over a year for a build and if I feel the deal is bad, I walk. I'm not going the get ulcers over something I have no control over. Sometimes we're just along for the ride. To be fair my perspective comes from somebody who ordered the base model(2dr) with practically no options and in January, so I really I don't have a lot turmoil built up.

True, but I’d sure hate to hear the griping that comes with the price increase passed over to us when manufacturing prices increase. Did you see how upset a lot of people were over the price increase between model years? Imagine thousands more than that if companies didn’t have cheap labor from other countries to depend on. šŸ˜‚

Nothing was said about doing this with broncos. Unless someone can give me a credible source. At the moment it would be explorers w/o the rear heat air controller working possibly the rear heated seats. I was with me dealer today and we were discussing this Bc he has 3 broncos stuck there and they (ford) would discount the vehicle for the missing feature then install the chip when it comes in.
