I wonder if there are warranty or other issues with NOT getting the chips installed after the period of time, and I wonder if they will extend our warranties because of the missing chips. For example, start/stop, if we choose not to get that chip installed, is there any ramifications to the owner? will it pass EPA tests for the states that check exhaust fumes etc? it does open up a can of worms, and from what i have read, the chip shortage is not ending anytime soon.

You live in Alabama, right? Why does it matter if you don't have heated seats as winter is ending and spring is starting?
b/c us southerners are complete babies about cold weather and need those heated seats for the 2 months/year it gets under 50 degrees!! LOL

Ok, ok, hear me out… what are the chances we can bargain for an included extended warranty? But I’m not talking about the kind they keep calling about. A real, from ford, extended warranty? Or at least start our standard warranty the day the vehicle is completed opposed to when we take delivery? Is this a thing?

The most you will get is $3.29 from the inevitable class action lawsuit.

Your points are valid for some, not so much for others. If you are paying cash or can afford to own or finance multiple vehicles, that is one thing. For some, it will be their only vehicle, financed, and required to be a daily driver. For them, they cannot simply afford to finance the Bronco, only to park it. Further, this would not allow them to trade-in their existing daily driver since they still need it for daily living.

The point is, everyone's situation is different, what is right for you may not be right for them.
I don't think they will ship any that can't be driven safely. There would be huge liability.

Fingers crossed it is heated seats and start stop, because I didn't order heated seats and I might "accidentally" not go back to get the start stop module installed 🤣
For the "start stop" forgotten forever.

If this is true I hope Ford and their dealers are not expecting full payment. Hold back money would be appropriate!
Hah...if only. No, dealers will expect 100% full payment on any new car or truck. If not, they'll just sell it to someone else same day. sucks, but it's the current reality.

Reserving judgement until we hear which "chips" are being left out. I'm neither in the "sky is falling if my butt is cold" nor the "I don't care if my Bronco is stripped to the bone, ship it NOW" camp.
