So im thinking if I swap the 4 inch rear speakers with something better (like Kicker CS speakers) and maybe used bass blockers, and got the flash done, this would get some pretty good results for little cost…?I’m not going to speak for other dealers but FDRS can get cranky, files from Ford don’t download right and various other things can happen. On mine, Marlin hooked up, did another update for chassis control module and sound bar update in about 45 min. Now, we’ve done telematics control unit updates on other vehicles that have taken 4 hours due to the file sizes. We’re on fiber at work and have stupid good access points so we aren’t the choke point.
I would think a dealer could easily do just the sound bar in an hour. If it’s in for some other software or work and they have a reason to have FDRS hooked up they might charge less. All depends on your dealer and if they are as awesome as us.![]()
