Anyone else with a 2.3 MT notice when the engine/driveline is still cold, at low vehicle speed and around 1.5-2.5k rpm engine speed, sometimes the clutch will 'bounce' in and out of engagement very rapidly (with foot totally off clutch pedal)? Makes mine shake like crazy. At first I thought I was bumping the throttle with my foot from the shaking and magnifying the issue but that's not the case either.

Goes away after few seconds, usually after easing off throttle entirely. Hasn't popped out of gear at all.

Have driven manual since 1998 and never had something quite like this; sound like a familiar/common MT issue to anyone?

Trying to keep my phone at the ready to bear witness but it's very random and short lived, for now.

This has happen before, bouncing clutch. They replaced and it didn’t fix. Ended up replacing motor apparently.

Nah, listening to that video, he definitely had a different issue- some rotating mass out of round or out of flat (reads to be TOB per alot of other members replies).

My issue only occurs with my foot completely out of the clutch, and doesn't make a noise like that at all. Plus, getting scientific here, but his leg would have been shaking with the rest of the truck if his was doing what mine is doing.

Not a good sign. There's a recent thread out there where the dudes clutch plate actually failed going down the road w/o warning.

Yeah mine has done the same since day one, very randomly, and only at cold start too. After it calms down, the Bronco drives fine with no other issues. But wondering for how long, though.

Before this thread I attempted to explain it to my dealer, but was really hard to put into words. I tried to capture it on my phone too, but since it's so random I haven't had a chance to do so. With that, I just shared this post with my dealer in hopes of shedding light on this. @Ford Motor Company

One of us needs to get quality video. I've noticed the tach goes nuts once the engine starts getting unloaded/loaded. That should be part of the potential clip. As well as our feet; out of the clutch and ideally off the throttle.

I'll try to keep my phone ready whenever I'm in a safe area to capture. Glad I may not be the only one.

So glad I'm not the only one as well.

Yeah I noticed the tach doing that too. With that, it can't be good for the engine nor drivetrain. Also, I'm wondering why it only occurs at a cold start. Maybe a throttle sensor or throttle plate issue?

Ill attempt to get video today (if it actually occurs) and post it. Lastly, when it does do it, no check engine lights too...hmm.

Yeah this was mine, Doesn't quite sound like the issue y'all are having here.
I work at the dealer, and we've get our best tech on it.
That being said, they are going to warranty the Clutch Assembly, the Flywheel, the clutch plate, and more.
But since half the parts are on Emergency Back Order, we havent even taken it apart as itll jsut sit there taking up a stall.
Instead they just popped of the starter and ran a snake w/ a camera in.
Took a picture of the plate and its fractured.
There could be more, but we wont know until we get all the parts in and dive in.

Yes, I went to the Off-Rodeo here in Central Texas. They told us about the small plastic part that holds the park brake on the auto trans. And seeing as it is a manual trans, i have always used the handbrakes that i had on my previous vehicles. (foot brake on my 82) and continued by using the e-brake in this model.

OP, I suggest next time you park not using it to rule it out as a cause.

Is flat around here, i just park in first without worry. I rarely if ever use the ebrake. I dont like the electric brake, prefer manual e brake so i know exactly what it's doing

Hmm interesting thought. With this issue it only occurs during a cold start. Being that I've experienced it many times, I don't think it's the ebrake. I'll try to get some video on it today and post.
