So after a week or so the creaking returned, odd, perhaps I was not hearing it initially, but upon further looking I may have found the source of the creaking. Here is what the back of the pedal looks like. shitty welding?

No idea how to fix this
Looks pretty normal. I doubt that’s causing a creaking

and the quest continues heh, I was hopeful for a second since my ears were telling me it's coming from there

When you replaced the clutch spring, did you re-apply grease? I noticed my factory clutch spring was slathered in it, to the point where it smeared on my work boots a few times lol. Perhaps it's a grease thing?

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Dealer said they couldn't get it to squeak. Total BS! It does it EVERY time in 1st and 2nd gear. Between that and the HVAC creaking noise from the dash when I turn the engine off this thing is starting to drive me mad.

I did add grease and still the same, sounds like it comes from the part where your foot rests but I dunno

I am dealing with the same thing.. possibly.. I can make it creak even when not moving.. doesn't matter the gear.. all that matters is that they are slow movements half way through the range.. so, either on trails, in reverse, or in traffic.... when I have to "ride" the clutch.. I have added lubricants.. etc.. I can rebuild and re lube the spring, but I hear that is temporary.. are we supposed to rebuild our clutch springs every 8K? seriously? any updates on your ends? I had jeeps, and even V-dubs with 150+ miles on them.. nothing so annoying.

It's' ridiculous. Whenever it's even remotely warm outside it squeaks so freaking loud. For me, it doesn't squeak at all pressing the clutch in out of gear. But while depressing the clutch with it in R, 1st or 2nd, it's obnoxiously loud. The dealer told me they couldn't get it to squeak. LMFAO. I'm going to record it making the noise and will show them.

I am probably going to figure this out after frustration and anger... and then I will still be pissed off at Ford... I am going to attempt to take this to the dealership... but I am just past the b 2 b warranty.. they did just replace the transmission and give the standard extension for extra 2 years on the transmission.. .. but I am sure that I will have them check it out.. and then say that the pedal is not covered..

Yes! Your fix worked like a charm. I used synthetic Brake caliper grease with “ceramic”. I did some experimenting with it while it was apart. The creaking seemed to be plastic on plastic rubbing inside the helper spring tube. That’s why greasing the outside did nothing. But. Once I find a new E clip.. all done. Thanks a million!

Now that I have done it once.. I expect that I will have to do it again soon, until I find the right lubricant and the right amount.... but at least it isn't difficult to do. I used an adjustable small window security rod/mini shower curtain rod to hold the pedal.. it really was pretty easy. I will just add it to my PM schedule.

I tried a couple different lubes, all with varying results, now that I know the source I'm less concerned and just "I know what that sound is".

I did order a new spring as a test to see if it was mine, nope still squeaks but at least now I have a backup

Yeah.. I am glad I did my experiments.. now I know it is inside the assembly that is the issue.. not the outer spring.. it will just be a PM issue. strange design.. but again.. just a matter of finding the right lube.. and the right amount to make it last as long as possible.. Still prefer the manual over the auto.. all freaking day.
