I’ll let you know I just installed it yesterday. Ive had the charger for some time and it works great. I never had apple car play so not sure how it will effect the charger. I can follow up later.
Apparently someone else had the same idea and might be able to answer this. @95Bravo

Haha clearly I didn’t search threads for this 😂
All good - you improved on the concept by tucking it under the rubber mat. Also, your Qi charger is smaller so maybe better (although, mine fits snugly in the space so it does not move around). I'm just happy I didn't pay for the feature when such an affordable, creative hack exists.

@Rosanna, what has your experience been with the wireless charger? Specifically, do you know if it will keep a phone charged (or better yet, increase its charge) while connected to something like Android Auto or Apple Car Play wirelessly?
Mine charges (increases the charge) even while using Apple carplay.

That's good news, thank you. Wireless AA is a big selling point for me, so having a charging solution that works will be a real plus.

+1 for the Lux package wireless charger being garbage. When I had the dealer loaner Wildtrak for a weekend all it did was get my iPhone 11 Pro Max hot. It couldn't even keep up with just using wireless CarPlay on the phone.

Lux is beyond my budget I’m glad I’m not missing much 😆

I’ll be doing something like this soon to my lux package wireless charger, since it gets my phone super hot and barely trickle charges.
this is disappointing to hear.

my issue is it’s coverage area. I have an iPhone 13 pro (so not a SMALL phone by any means, only thing bigger is the Pro Max) but after a few minutes of regular driving or turns, the phone moves a little bit and breaks it’s wireless charging connectivity. What a poor charger.

Ya that too. If you can get it to charge long enough it will get hot AF. At least our iPhone 12s do.

Thanks that’s one thing I still gotta figure out the garage door opener.
If you have a light on your visor, just order the visor with light and garage door opener replace it and plug it in. I have done this many times before .

So someone in my 9/6 build group thought I shld share my wireless charger hack. I had a wireless charger that attached to car vent. I took off the car vent part then attached 3m wall hook tape and attached it. Then I put the rubber cover over it tucked the cord it the space above the USB port and was happy my phone cld connect to charger with the rubber cover.

What charger is that? Do you have an amazon link?

I bought this recently and it generally works well, although the app is sometimes a bit glitchy (says it isn't responding when I'm using Siri, although it's very likely it's a Siri problem)

I have this unit and can concur, it looses connectivity to HomeKit daily. So, I bought a simple Wyze smart plug (I use their cams as well) to plug this unit into. I have it set to power cycle every day in the early morning hours. This effectively keeps the opener online
