Does anybody have an issue with their wiper blades skipping/hopping on the return swipe? Swipe from down to up is 95% smooth but swipe from up to down always skips/hops on the way down, unless I’m spraying wiper fluid. I guess the fluid provides some sort of lubrication for the blades. I thought it was my blades were getting old but put new ones on and same problem.

is this a fault of the blade motor not having enough power in the return direction or is there an easier solution?

I have the same issue unless it is very rainy. I’m hoping to switch to silicone blades in the fall before the rain starts to see if that fixes the problem

My understanding is that blades hop on the return swipe when the windshield is too slippery and there isn't enough resistance to cause the blade to "flip" when reversed.

Check out this video. I'm having the same issue. The blade does indeed flip as it should but still skips on the return swipe. I've been trying to figure this out for about a month now and have been through 3 different types of wiper blades.
