Excuse my ignorance if this has been discussed already but we’ve been having 30-40+ mph gusts here in northwest Texas and today on my way to and from work (freeway speeds about 60-70mph), both the driver and passenger windows made whistling noises that lasted for about a second, depending on angle the gusts were blowing. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is there a fix?
Under normal wind speeds the windows never rattled

It happens with frameless windows. Nothing to worry about.

Yeah I figured it was bound to happen given it’s a removable top with frameless windows against 40 mph gusts while going 70mph on the highway but I was a bit worried something was wrong with the Bronco. Thanks for the reassurance!

Occasionally happens on my Badlands 4 door. It comes from the passenger side. Can't figure if it's the front or rear passenger window. So far I have ignored it as it only occurred a few times a year and under very specific conditions - cold and high wind outside. I remembered there is a thread with procedures to adjust the window glass to tilt or press tighter against the seal, which may help with this issue.

LOL - What I'm hearing over 40mph sounds like the passenger window is cracked open. It took the wife being in the passenger seat to recognize that the sound is actually between us - coming from the roof. There's a very detailed post adding a load of weatherstrip to the roof panels to aid in alleviating that. Then I'm told that - having addressed that - it seems to enhance the 'Road noise'.

Rather than chasing my tail, I just lean into the noise and go ahead and crack the window open.

So yeah I did hear the wind noise coming from between the panels but I’m pretty positive the windows were whistling because at one point the driver window very slightly moved out when I got hit with gusts. I’m assuming just leaning into it and cracking it slightly might be the best option to go about those scenarios.

we usually don’t get strong winds like that in Texas so it never happened to me before yesterday.

There is a window adjustment that's pretty easy to do. Grab a deep socket 10mm socket and lie down under an open door. Remove the (approx) 2"x3" rubber plug and loosen the nut under that and push the bolt toward the outside of the door and then retighten the nut. This solved the 'loose window death rattle' that happens when the window is partially down. The hardest part (for me) doing this was getting up off the Garage floor. It may help with some of the wind noise you're hearing in high winds.

And ask the wife not to talk so much 😳🙂

My house has been whistling with those winds last few days. Sounded like a snowstorm out there, but it's 80deg.
