Window bounce will not go away

Been reading the other window bounce threads, but none of the suggestions there resolve my issue

The rear driver window does not go up and down automatically. And I can't get it to go up and stay up. The moment it reaches the up position it bounces and comes down.

Have tried recalibrating the window multiple times. No dice.

Have tried wiping/cleaning the top of the door. No dice.

Waited for it to go away after a few days (has helped others). Been 2 weeks, no dice.

Where is the Ctrl - Alt - Delete button?

Try leaving the door open, and then putting it up while in park.

Had same problem last week, passenger rear. Window reset procedure would not fix it. Took it to dealer just under warranty by days, they had to reprogram the window module and that fixed it. I was told that the diy window reset does not work on the rear windows and they have to be flashed by the dealer to fix.

Pull the negative on the battery for 30 seconds or so and try again.

I had this issue a few times back prior to the software update Ford released about a year ago. Pulling the negative and trying the calibration steps again worked.

Also probably worth bringing it up to your dealer to see if your vehicle has had the update or not. It's an OTA update, so it should get it eventually, but your dealer can likely push it manually if needed. They can check update state remotely (as long as you didn't disable the Ford <-> vehicle communication in your Sync privacy settings), so should be a fairly quick phone call.

I had similar issue and noticed the window wasn’t automatically lowering slightly when you open, then raising when you close, so it was resting on the gasket, causing rattle and (more) wind noise. The automatic up and down also wasn’t working, but it was at least staying up. Luckily, the reset did work. Not exactly sure what sequence worked, but playing with the 5 second holds eventually brought it back. I’ve had to do this twice now.

I've definitely had this issue multiple times over the last few years. It's always my rear passenger.

On the rears, when doing the reset, do the up first bit first. When doing it don't go to the top at full speed, inch your way into the window seal in the top half until it's snug in the seal, then do the hold for 5 seconds, go down and hold for 5, go up and hold (and it should stay without having to inch it up this time), down +5, then back up+5, and you should be set.

If none of the above fixes work, apply slight pressure on the window to push it towards the inside of your vehicle as it's going up when you're doing the recalibration/reser. The rear windows have something stiff inside the weatherstripping at the top so this helps it avoid that and go into the slot more easily.

I had this issue on my rear passenger side window and that's the only thing that worked

I used this. Had to keep repeating it many times but eventually fixed the problem (rear passenger window)

Window bounce back after fully closing
If the window in your Bronco bounce back and reopens after fully closing, it means the auto window feature needs to be reprogrammed. Follow the reset procedure to fully restore the functionality.

Reset procedure
Start your Bronco.

Close all the doors and windows.

Open the window by pressing and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully open, keep the switch pressed for a few seconds.

Close the window by lifting and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully closed, keep the switch held for a few seconds.

Note: Repeat the procedure if the window bounce back again. If it still doesn’t work, repeat the procedure without starting the engine and the ignition in ON position. To turn on the ignition in vehicles with start/stop button, press the button without pressing the brake pedal.

Alternate method
If the above reset instructions do not work for your Bronco, then this alternate method may work.

Start your Bronco.

Close all windows and doors.

Open the window by pressing and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully open, keep the switch pressed for a few seconds. Release the switch, then press it again and hold it for a few seconds.

Close the window by lifting and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully closed, keep the switch held for a few seconds. Release the switch, then pull it upward again and hold it.

The one-touch up and down features will then be fully functional.

Note: If the window still bounce back in your Bronco, repeat the procedure without starting the engine and the ignition in ON position. To turn on the ignition in vehicles with start/stop button, press the button without pressing the brake pedal.

Glad it was able to help. The electronics in the Bronco are very quirky, subtle difference in procedures can make the difference.
