Winch power wire covers

Ive searched for similar questions without good answers so I'll ask. Do any of you use some sort of fabric/weaved material to protect the power cable on your winch. I installed my winch about a month ago and I can already see the red cable is starting to fade. It would be nice to find color matched (approximate) wraps to prevent UV damage if i could. Could also use it for the synthetic lead cover too. Thanks for any info for you can provide.

Raychem DR-25 or Techflex. Raychem is my preferred and is truly the top of the line (handles high heat, oil, gas etc and shrinks down but remains flexible) but boy howdy is it expensive. If exposed to water, grit, sand, it’s better than woven which would allow fine debris in and cause a sandpaper effect. I use the techflex (esp clean cut) in the engine bay and through body panels, interior, and Raychem for other areas or hybrid exposure runs.

When using these non-split loom setups, it’s going to be a challenge.

Also, if you’re making your own cables, like going to 1/0 from the 2 awg that warn includes, look for the super flexible double insulated Motorsport wiring from Prowire or BatteryCablesUSA. The inner insulation is white so you can quickly see if there’s a cut in the outer insulation.
