Cool that people are discovering dirt roads. They aren’t new and every vehicle ever made has successfully traversed them. Now stop telling people about them or they will get as crowded as the highway.

2DR WT 2.7- For me- knowing the pragmatic utilization of this vehicle, knowing l may never use it for Rock Crawlling I opted for the WT. The rig is capable and if I get myself into a bad situation or want to explore, I won't be worrried, but this weekend I was validated chosing WT.

In short, there is a road from my cabin back home that is rarely traveled becuase about 20 miles of it is dirt though the mountains. As the crow flies, it is shorter, but because it is dirt, it is a big negative for most folks but I decided to drive it last weekend to see for myself.

In short, what is generally a 2.5 (best case)- 3 hour drive back home was reduced to 2 hrs. While not made for crawling, towing or excellent gas mileage, the Wildtrak excelled on a dirt road at 50-60+ MPH. Super stable, predictable, planted and fun. In reality, I am way more likely to take a dirt road to a random ghost town vs. seek out a technical obstacle requiring "crawl mode". In short...........fun and impressive.
Sounds like a great way to cut off time on the drive home. Glad you had fun! I wish they offered the Wildtrack with the MGV interior. I love the blacked out exterior trim, but I felt and sat in the MGV seats and I loved them. I'm pretty sure I'll never need the armor and sta bar disconnect, so I could have saved the weight and expense....but those seats. So nice. And I'm sure cleaning up from my kids will be a ton easier than with cloth. Oh well, maybe in 24 or 25 Ford will switch up the interior options.

I have MGV in the EB....has held up great.... amazingly great. Cloth was a choice for winter months and WT just to fire up haters when I decide to post on 6G about my WT or dirt roads 😁😁😁

Lets See.... so far the OP talked about a great time he had in his Bronco. The peanut gallery chimes in because they want a penis measuring contest because of trim levels and/or options. Just glad the OP had a great time...

I don't know how to say this to all the Wildtrak Haters that are constantly sippin hella Haterade up in here:

You keep saying "any Bronco could do that!" - yeah maybe.

But we look better doing it.

Simple as that.

Taste The Rainbow, haters.

Did you mean to specifically say dirt road and not gravel road? Lol

This is what we have devolved into in this brave new social media world we live in. OP wasn’t bashing on any other trim. Can’t just congratulate someone and let them be happy with their new WT……gotta have people come out and justify their own choices by ripping on someone else.

And I happen to think he’s right. Ripping down a dirt or back road in Baja or Sport mode is exactly what the WT excells at. Light rig, Plastic bumpers, no heavy steel bash plates, TTV6, 10spd auto, wide Sas profile all may be a detriment in the rocks, but not on a gravel/dirt road.
There’s not a trim that can do what he described better or even as well. I won’t get into the limitations of other trims because they all have their purpose and appeal……but f*r F*+k sakes people, let the guy have his moment.
Well, that was the thinking behind my build, which is lighter than the WildTrak, and I would argue that my slightly modified Bronco OBX certainly can do it as well (if not better than the WildTrak).

I can't think of any limitations my non-sasquatch OBX has over 20 MPH that would make the WildTrak the better choice?

Still, not throwing any shade, I think that he should be happy with his choices. I say this with a 22.5 WildTrak Hoss 3.0 on order.

They’re almost identical…..trying to think of what could possibly make the OBX lighter after the OBX is built to match the WT with the same engine, tranny, tires, suspension and bumpers?
