From what I understand the ford pass app will be a yearly subscription correct?
Fairly sure it was designed as a subscription and then Ford just decided to include it as a free service to Ford owners. At least with 2019/20 models and before. Not sure if anything has changed.

I think you are spot on in the upgrade to big bend with mid sounding like a poor value compared to base

There's enough content held back though that many will spend for it even with it being a poor value
My point of view lessens a bit if you aren’t going Sasquatch, as you do get upgraded/bigger tires and wheels with the Big Bend. I think the Sasquatch pricing should take these tire/wheel options in consideration when moving from trim to trim, and maybe they will, but for now, it’s fun to banter about.

I just wanted to figure out what I'd be missing out on. So far I'm leaning towards the mid, the way people described intelligent access really pushed it for me. I'm still going back and thinking how often that would have been incredibly useful.

Yeah, but Ford's plan is that they really don't want you to actually buy the base

They price it low to let them advertise a low price, then make it miserable enough that they know you'll end up buying a more expensive version

Advertising Sasquatch availability on base gets people excited that they can get a cool looking truck for 30, but then they see the compromises and end up getting upsold to a 40k truck or more

They're actively trying to discourage buying base, I wouldn't be shocked if ford lost a small amount or made just a miniscule profit on base.
I was thinking the same thing when they only offered certain paint colors for the base models!!!

The ~$300 price difference between Outer Banks Lux and Black Diamond Sasquatch, would include the Mid Package in the Black Diamond. I like the idea of intelligent access, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated seats, and reverse sensing system (I’ve driven a car with the rear-camera and no lines, and it’s very weird). The rest of the package would be a bonus, but I could do without.

And I’ll say this, I’m not the biggest fan of heated seats either. I tend to sweat a bit, and heated seats, even in the dead of winter, don’t necessarily agree with me. BUT, I can see myself leaving the top and doors off well into the fall...and very early in the spring. I’m an idiot, so I’ll have the heated seats on, heated steering wheel on, knit hat on, doors and roof off......
Auto dimming mirror is honestly one of my favorite features on my car. Heated seats, wheel and ventilated seats are also awesome. My Challenger automatically heats the seats and wheel at a specific outside temperature so I get in after remote start and it’s warm and toasty. I just flip it off after that, it’s nice to get in to a not cold car.

What are “adaptive dashacards”

I’m a tech moron
It's in the center screen - I think you can move "tiles" (dashcards) around the screen (i.e. nav on the left, climate upper right, radio bottom right, or moving those around to be radio on the left, climate lower right and nav upper right)......as I understand you can adjust them depending on how you want.

They say 360, but is it really or just a front and rear camera?
Ford's 360 camera systems include a camera under each mirror (in addition to the front/rear camera, of course)

Some of this stuff comes standard on most other
Models..
Funny how ford is using it for a price upgrade. Seriously you have to upgrade to an 8 inch touch screen, I haven’t driven a car in the past 5 years thst didn’t have some type of touch screen in it as standard equipment..

come on Ford you can do better..
8" touch screen is standard.

This. Heated seats for me are simply a must. BUT. When you add the 1500 for mid + 1600 for auto AND possibly a hardtop (forget if it’s standard on 2dr or not) the more I think about just going base and getting slip on seat heaters.
also dual climate is great for driving with any other person in earth in the car.
My favorite is when my parents will get in my car and then adjust BOTH their temperature and mine.....I'm like uhhh you have your own, you don't need to change mine.

I feel that a Badlands-Sasquatch (Four-Door) without any added tech options from the mid, high, and lux packages is the best combination when it comes to long term reliability, durability, and dependability for an off-road rig.

I feel that if you add tech from the mid, high, and lux packages that things may go wrong and it is the last thing that you want to happen when out in the middle of nowhere. I thought about the high package as well. However, I stick to the side of reliability. I can live without the parking and backup sensors. For me, I dont need added tech when off roading and as a daily driver.
If that’s what you want then go for it. Personally I just want the dual zone climate control and heated seats. I get the more electronics the more can screw up. Which is why I would only get the mid package.

Am Fam told me it makes no difference on policy cost, I have it all on my Challenger.
This may not be an accurate statement but I believe the added safety features included in the Mid Package may help reduce insurance cost?

Maybe someone more familiar can correct me or validate this theory?
Have all that and more on my Tesla and it didn't make a bit of difference to State Farm. They're looking at the cost to replace the vehicle if stolen or in an accident... not how likely it is for either of those things to happen. :(

I have auto high beams, rain sensitive wipers and adaptive cruise control and all are awesome. It’s less stuff I have to fiddle with while driving.
Yes. First time I experienced auto high-beams was on my mom's Edge ST. Was pretty cool how it always dimmed them before a car got close and put them back on right after it passed. Worked perfectly--I thought it might get fooled at least once. I hope all of my future vehicles have this.

I didn’t build my challenger but I bought it and it ended up coming with their version of the technology package. So it had the auto High beams, lane assist, rain sensitive wipers, adaptive cruise control etc.

I thought they sounded useless because I’ve driven a car for 15 something years without any of that. I was driving it home from the dealership after I signed the papers and it was raining. I must have drove a few miles before I realized that I hadn't even touched the wipers. The high beams are great where I live because I have back roads and it’s nice they flip on and off in an instant to keep everything nicely lit. Love it.

Interesting, we went from a 2010 Honda Odyssey EX-L to a 2019 Odyssey Elite and our rate changed by a few dollars each year. (I think it was $12 higher) I assumed it was due to the safety advances that may mitigate accidents. The difference in replacement value between the two is nearly 40k.

Maybe I was overpaying on the 2010 lol

Hard to say. That could've been the excuse given by my agent to justify the rate hike. I've since switched to a friend's office, and he "found" me more discounts. Honestly, I think it's more of a hat trick where if they can find a way to justify higher rates they do... relying on so many factors that as consumers we can never get a handle on what they're actually basing it on. In your case, my guess is you were overpaying for the 2010. :(

Heated seats. Gets pretty chilly here in MA during the winter...and fall...and spring. And I can imagine the vinyl will stay cold for a while without it
