Nope - I'm going for Lux, unless it's not available on whatever trim level I land on, then I'll settle for the High package.. I'm not sure why people are settling for the Mid package either
Because in some trims its the highest package available

I am not 100% sold on the mid package because I am still hemming and hawing between base and black diamond. If I go with black diamond will definitely be for the mid package though. Remote start is amazing for AZ summers, start cooling it down before you even get there. Smart entry is super convenient. Blind spot monitors/lane assist are very nice to have as well.
man I really wish the base came with an option besides sasquatch for bigger wheels/tires. also would love to add the mid package to the base as well:/

TBH that seems like the entire goal of getting people to upgrade. None of the trims are worth the prices of the included parts, the reason to upgrade trim is to have the ability to purchase excluded options / goat modes.

The mid package has pretty much every option that I would pick if ala carte was an option. With the exception of heated steering wheel and wireless charging.

-Intelligent access
-AC power outlet
-Auto dimming rear view
-Heated seats
-Remote start
-Reverse sensing
-Blis

All must haves for me.
This. Heated seats for me are simply a must. BUT. When you add the 1500 for mid + 1600 for auto AND possibly a hardtop (forget if it’s standard on 2dr or not) the more I think about just going base and getting slip on seat heaters.
also dual climate is great for driving with any other person in earth in the car.

The logic behind the move, he said, is that oftentimes when automakers start charging for a service after a free trial, many customers opt out and the automaker can no longer collect data from those vehicles. If the service is free, more people are likely to keep the hardware turned on, making it easier for Ford to generate money from other avenues.

"Once you've built the hardware, the cost of the data is almost nothing," he said. "It makes more sense to make that free for life but generate revenue off the other kinds of services and leverage the hardware they've built into the car."

Surveillance State!

This is where I think Ford should’ve implemented some flexibility. If you are considering a base 2-door with sasquatch, it’s not a $1,500 option for the MID, it becomes a $6,500 option with the jump to the Big Bend. And for that $6,500, you get LED Fog Lamps, 2nd Row Privacy Glass, 6 GOAT Modes instead of 5, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and then the MID....OUCH.

Because not everyone can afford it?? Slightly elitist sounding lol. Why wouldn’t everyone buy a First Edition
The md package is a relatively low cost, if the difference between being able to afford a bronco is made or broken by $1500 then you're really on the knife edge of being in your budget anyways.

At that point, have we accounted for insurance and gas cost, both will be higher on bronco vs most other vehicles

You certainly do have to draw a line somewhere though, I get that
I also think loading up a bronco is a poor value in the marketplace

If you have early warning and lane departure with emergency braking, up here in BC Canada it does make a difference. I just bought my 2020 ranger and it saved me 10% on my insurance.

ok, Fordpass Connect appears to be free. But, if you can remote start etc from your phone does that mean there is a cell phone type receiver installed in the Bronco and is there a cost for that? Can't rely on wifi service 100% of the time.

Right, I was mostly busting balls there but as someone said above you’re also going up several steps in trim. That’s more the issue.

Not to totally defend Ford but base models exist simply to grab headlines with a low price.

I agree to an extent, but leaving the Sasquatch in and taking the Mid out, the jump from Base to Big Bend is now $5k for fog lamps, window tint, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. That‘s not exactly stripping all the features out just to advertise a certain price point. And if the wheel/tire combo on the Big Bend (and each subsequent trim) are expensive enough to justify the jump in price between trims, why no consideration of that when calculating the Sasquatch Package Price for the Base model? I guess my real problem here is not with the Mid, it’s with the $4,885 price jump from the Base to the Big Bend—and the fact that the Mid is not available on Base.
