Damnit I think I have this noise now, after only 1800 miles.

Does it sound like propeller noise that speeds up/slows down depending on your speed?
Yes, that describes it very well. Do you have the advanced 4WD? If so it is easy to listen to and demonstrate the noise. Just jack up the front end and rotate one front tire and you will hear the noise from the driveshaft loud and clear. The non advanced systems do not have this noise as the front driveshaft does not turn when the vehicle is in 2WD.

Mine was like a ticking sound at low speeds, with a few ticks per revolution. I did not hear it at above 20 or so.

That's exactly what mine sounds like now. Just started (or I'm just noticing) at around 7500 miles. Advanced 4WD. Not cool.

I massaged the boot and the sound appears to have disappeared for now.

We'll see how long that lasts.

I know this is an older thread but I'm getting a whining drivetrain noise that sounds like it is coming from passenger rear. I've jacked it up on all four corners and spun all wheels while in neutral, nothing out of the ordinary.

At cruising speed is where I'm hearing it. I was thinking old KO2's in rear however if I'm cruising and shift to neutral, it stops.

I'm so trying not to take this thing to stealership.

2023 Wildtrak, 50k miles, KO2's, 2 door

Feedback appreciated.

I had my rear diff rebuilt from a whirring noise. The first visit, the tech said all he hears is wind noise from the roof rack and road noise from the tires. After a road trip to Vegas, I noticed the rear tires were showing some cupping. I took the bronco back to the dealer and said the sound is still there and the rear tires are starting to cup. I told them something is going on in the rear end. Sure enough, they found the rear diff to be the issue and did a complete rebuild under warranty.

Edit to add: The whirring noise I was hearing was most noticeable when driving or coasting in the 40mph to 60mph range.

Just wanted to update for all.

Noise was fried rear differential. No mods or off-roading. 50k miles. Covered and approved under power train warranty.

I have this whining noise coming from my Bronco when driving over 20 mph. Just brought into the dealership and waiting to hear back from them. I have just over 70k miles and I have the advanced 4WD as well. Seems this is a more common problem than just mine. Hopefully this is covered under my extended warranty. This was my fear about buying the Bronco, that it would not hold up long term.
Wish me luck!!

With extended warranty I think it should be covered. It's common failure. I was talking to my parts guy at dealer yesterday in small town TX and he says he sees these Dana's throw pinion bearings all the time. I have heard change diff fluid at 500-1000 miles after break in of the bearings and it almost always keeps this from happening again. Good luck 👍🏼

I didn’t hear back from dealership yet, hopefully it’s covered. Such a shame these go so early on, considering my Bronco is a pavement princess with little 4 wheeling. I will keep you guys posted.

Same here. I don't even drive that often. Only time it sees dirt is when on an off the beaten path mountain road in Durango once a year.
