Curious what the going rates are around the country. I am paying 1200 to a reputable shop in S. Fla. for my 2dr. It stings for sure. Did not think it would go that high.

I did it myself in an afternoon, McKee 37 products. $200 for the ceramic stuff, and bought a clay bar and some spray'. A oddly pleasant experience doing the 'work'. All in maybe $350 and 4-6 hours of casual work. Came with enough ceramic treatment to do another vehicle. (Iron remover might also be a good idea, I skipped that)

I have now done my Bronco and my son's Bronco using the Adams Graphene process. I clayed it using Adams clay, washed it afterwards, not much paint correction because I did it within a week of ownership - in my garage. Took about a good 6 x hours or so. I purchased the black light from Adams on the first Bronco - helps see where you missed placing the Graphene because it has a UV substance in it. I think total for both Broncos I am under $300 and its a long term (9yr they claim) coating. I can tell you that I watched videos on YouTube and this is not rocket science. Hard to wash my Bronco because even the water just falls off of it. $1100? Maybe I need to change professions. Getting ready to do my wife's 2013 BMW X6M. Will I do my F350 Dually? Maybe a quick spray.

How many hours did you spend?
Maybe 3 hours end to end, tops, I'm thinking. Could have gone quicker but really wasn't in a hurry and was my first time with MOHS Evo so I was being a little cautious just to make sure (it's easy to initially doubt yourself if you are seeing the product flashing properly but once you get the rhythm and develop confidence with MOHS it goes really quickly). Honestly applying the ceramic coating isn't where all the time is spent it's all of the prep work to get to that point. IMO even new (had less than 1K miles at the time, much of which was from initial drive home from IA) it still needs basic paint correction and THAT is where the time and effort is spent. The MOHS spreads nicely and didn't really leave me with high spots to worry about but, again, first time with that product so it was a learning process. I'll also admit by the time the coating process began my back and knees weren't too happy with me from the prior prep work and I wasn't moving as fast as I once did but at my age I'm happy just to still be able to do it! I can tell you that a quality rolling seat is on my wishlist but there's such a gap between "Affordable but crappy" and "OMFG it costs HOW much?" in that particular market segment that gives me pause.

NO COST
My wife negotiated her BRONCO ON PURCHASE ceramic treatment on her BRONCO in 2021 for free in exchange for her BRONCO to be displayed in the dealership showroom for a week. The dealer agreed. + soft top treatment + sunrider treatment. Plus price protection from FORD LESS 6% OFF MSRP RECEIVED BRONCO March 26, 2023. The dealer said he would never sell a BRONCO at that price again. The dealer honored all terms of the contract. My wife was a tough dealmaker.

Just getting educated on this. Figured I'd respond here instead of creating a new post. What questions should I ask getting a quote? What do they do with the Top, Plastic Fenders and such?

I do my own, which is a lot cheaper but can require a ton of prep time if it's not a brand new vehicle. If you do it right when you get the vehicle, and then reapply according to the product's instructions you don't have to do nearly as much prep to get decent results. The prep is the hard, time consuming part that you get charged a ton for if you take it in to a detailer.

I Paid $2k to have my Braptor (brand new at the time) and my wife's Black Denali with 50k miles. Both had full clay bar, paint correction, 'graphene' ceramic, climate controlled 24 hour cure and 10 year warranty. At this price they also tinted the front windows on both cars, so maybe $900 each?

I was skeptical at first. The wife is a drive thru car wash queen- the car was swirled front to back and this completely cleared up the black paint. She has steadily hit the car washes over the 6 months since coated and there is literally zero defects- who knows how long that will last.

As for the Raptor, it deepened the color of the Hot Pepper Red and made the paint like glass to the touch. Easy to clean too.

I didn't have the time to do this myself, but will now have it done on every new car I buy.

Always did detailing myself as I have all the tools necessary and being in Colorado, Adams products are what I use. Detailing is not difficult or beyond the ability of the average car enthusiast, you just need an eye and feel for small details. A random orbital polisher with the appropriate pads, good lighting, a clay bar pad/mitt from Adams (use like a wash mitt) and your ceramic products to save hundreds of dollars.
