Hi,

I am the current owner of a 2022 Bronco Sport Outer Banks. I have been wanting to trade in for a while and finally ready to pull the trigger.

I am going to test dirve a few this weekend but wanted some opinions or comments beforeI decide.

1. I really like the rugged look and find the sasquatch package really suits the car well. Is it worth to get this package or should i consider modifing the tires post purchase. I wont be off roading by anymeans but the occasional camping trip or adventure.

2. Is there a specific trim level that is the best? I will be using this for my very short commute to work and weekend trips across california with my boyfriend.

3. Last, any year reccomendation? I am leaning towards the 2024 or 2025 since i plan to have this car forever and would rather bite the bullet and spend the money to have the newest

Thank you in advance!!!!

Also some specifics I am in northern california and will be doing a hard top.

2 or 4 door?
Manual or auto?

Raptor. No really. You can find killer deals. It really is a big step up and with discounts it makes sense if it is your price range.

Otherwise... if you don't want a manual transmission. Get the 2.7 v6.

I'm more of the keep it stock crowd for warranty and resale value. SAS is a big chunk of money but it's covered under warranty and when you sell it people won't wonder if you are selling because because the lift is a problem.

I think outer banks and wildtrak trims had the better interiors with sound deadening, carpet, cloth seats.

SAS has bigger tires and appropriate gearing to motivate them.

you probably want a 4A button if you deal with any sort of snow.

It sounds like you are already thinking about bigger tires, if that's the case just keep in mind gearing, you don't want 3.73 gearing with larger tires. Depending on how large you are thinking, this can be accomplished a few different ways for MY25, like the Black Diamond package, Sas, or non-sas Badlands), things can get expensive quickly for many.

You're really asking for personal opinions here and I suspect you'll find pretty much every trim out there is preferred by one or another.

For me, I keep my vehicle til it dies and a BaseSquatch fit me just fine. Someone else will want the Lux package that you can get from the OBX (unless they changed it) on up. Then others will swear by Raptor or nothing.

For what you said you wanted, any one of the trims will fit the bill. Either spend the extra money for the sasquatch package or do it yourself... If I had to guess, cheapest route is new wheels/tires $3k+, and a puck lift $100 plus install (can be done yourself though), then an alignment. So figure $4k+ to get the looks, but you won't have the gearing or 4a.

And yes the 4 cylinder will turn 35's even with the 3.73 gears. I will say I've seen the 4 cylinder w/35's get over 19MPG with a light foot. My V6 gets around 17 with the way I drive.

I purchased a new WildTrak (not offered for 2025) which came standard with the Sasquatch package. Can't speak to your budget, but I definitely recommend the package. It adds capability right from the factory that is covered under warranty, and it also adds to the look of the vehicle. The WildTrak also came with the Hoss 3.0 suspension upgrade that comes with the Fox Shocks which greatly improve the ride, and the upgraded steering rack from the Bronco Raptor.

I just took mine on some tough trails in Northern Michigan and she performed like a champ.

My recommendation is to go with a Badlands Sasquatch with the Hoss 3.0 package (again, not sure about your budget).

If you go with a lower trim, definitely upgrade to the SAS package. You also get the 4A option instead of the part time 4WD.

I just bought a ‘24 wildtrak last month. 4 door, hard top. Sticker was a little over $68k and I got it for $57k. Was originally looking at a raptor but even with a great deal it’s still in the mid $70s plus tax and title. Feel like it’s hard to beat the wildtrak for the money.

So many choices… A 2025 will have all the newest updates. It will have the newest version of the four-cylinder if you choose to go that route, and it will have rear seat AC vents in the console that they didn’t have before 2025. Get leather or cloth the marine grade vinyl will sweat your backside because it does not have seat cooling.

1. I really like the rugged look and find the sasquatch package really suits the car well. Is it worth to get this package or should i consider modifing the tires post purchase. I wont be off roading by anymeans but the occasional camping trip or adventure.

- Typically, I think that buying a Sasquatch when you're not going to offroad with it is a waste of money. That said, if you like the look, I think you're better served to buy what you want, than to just mod into it. Going with bigger tires has it's pros and cons, and having it from the factory means you don't have to worry about how changing the suspension geometry is going to impact things. It'll just work. Buying the Sasquatch package opens up other trims as well, without having to compromise on performance. People can tell you that you can put 35s on any Bronco by removing the crash bars, and that's accurate, but there's no free lunch. You don't sound like you're going to be abusing it, or modding it...so I think factory reliability is likely what I'd recommend.

2. Is there a specific trim level that is the best? I will be using this for my very short commute to work and weekend trips across california with my boyfriend.

- I'd think for trims, you're going to want it as comfy as possible. Outer Banks is the obvious choice to me. You won't need the offroad capability that comes with the Badlands, you don't need the armor that comes with the Black Diamond. Sasquatch will give you 4A (which I think you want for bad weather). if you're not getting the lux package and want to save a few bucks, a Big Bend with the mid package and sasquatch might be good for you.

3. Last, any year reccomendation? I am leaning towards the 2024 or 2025 since i plan to have this car forever and would rather bite the bullet and spend the money to have the newest

- I have a 2024 2dr Big Bend non sas. I love it. I think that buying a 2024 is a great value if you're not super picky, and you'll probably get the most machine for your money by going 2024. That said, I like the 2025 better (with the exception of 2dr availability) mostly due to the instrument cluster. I dont like it enough to trade my 24 Big Bend in for a 25, but I do like it better.

You didn't mention engines, but you should probably think about it. I have the 2.3L. Some folks won't accept less than a 2.7L. If your heart isn't set on the 2.7, go with the 2.3. If you want a manual, you have no choice, you're getting a 2.3. Same with doors. I only wanted a 2dr, but a 4dr would be more practical for most people.

TL/DR:
- 4 door, outer banks or big bend (depending on budget), sasquatch for factory wheels and 4a transfer case. 2024 if you're on a budget, 2025 if you can spend whatever you want.

If you don't plan on off-roading, you can get the Squatch look at a fraction of the cost of the actual Squatch package. Tires, wheels, spacer lift or possibly just a leveling kit along with removing the front crash bars will get you clearance for 35's. FWIW, 33's give a robust look as well.
I have a 2 door Basesquatch and find it all of the luxury that I desire. OTOH, I purchased more for performance than luxury.

I would have gotten the sas package, but it wouldn't fit in my garage due to its height (this is just me coping since I didn't get the package when it was inexpensive for the base model pricing so I won't ever measure the actual height of my garage or face regret).

In my opinion a non SAS Badlands is the best trim. Comes with all the advanced 4x4 features. Better gearing. SAS on a Badlands is a money grab from Ford. It would only come with slightly different gearing. OEM 35 in tires and different rims for thousands. Run the non SAS 33 in and put 35’s on when they wear out.

1. I have Badlands Sasquatch. I take it off-road and routinely drive gravel/dirt roads that can be fairly rutted. If you aren’t going to offroad, getting the Sasquatch package and/or bigger tires is a total waste of money. Had a 4Runner before with 31.5” tires and that was totally fine for off-roading too.

2. If you’re buying it as a commuter vehicle, just look for the creature comforts you want with the price you are willing to pay. No reason to worry about special features related to off-roading.

3. Everyone says they’ll own vehicles forever and yet CarMax and others do good business. Don’t get hung up on anything besides it having the equipment you want, the condition of the vehicle, mileage appropriate for age (not too low, not too high), and price.
