Just remember the number to the left of the "W" (which stands for Winter and not Weight) is the indication of winter performance.
Guess I never remember that since I’m in the Deep South and never really think about winter performance of anything including the battery.

Good reminder though.

Yep, just a general reminder. Given that you are in the South, you may want to consider 75W-110 as an interim viscosity, but with 95°F + heat, 75W-140 is good too.

It's -6°F outside right now and I'm running 75W-140.

For snow drifts like we had today....deep snow and enough wind that it takes just minutes to fill in where another vehicle has just driven, 4x4 with rear lockers engaged. Get to where the wind has scoured the snow down to bare gravel/dirt, it is back to 4A.

Edit to say our roads are as slick as Andy Reid's ice covered mustache was in tonight's game with that southern team.

4a year around
lock rear in mud snow sand rock when needed but most of the time 4a and tactoin off will get you everywhere i really dont use goat modes much
Does it affect your gas mileage? It seems to me that in normal mode if I let off the pedal there is engine drag. I don't notice it in slippery mode.

We are getting around the area in either 4A or 4HI. Haven't had the need for the GOAT modes. Tualatin and I-5 are pretty heavily covered. We are in LO and it is a mess. Trees down everywhere. Avoid it if you can.

What Axle gear oil weight are you running?

I’m changing mine next weekend and installing my Ford Performance Diff Cover with AMSOIL Severe Gear 75w-90. Not going to the Dana suggestion of like 75w-160, but higher than the weird 75w-85

Doing this at the suggestion and smart advice of @CarbonSteel from his posts and videos in December.

Going to change my T-case fluid as well with the regular Motorcraft MERCON LV because not sure it matters much, but to your point, want to ensure all are properly full. My Bronco is just under 10K miles.
As per our friend @CarbonSteel, I am using 75W110 (AMSOIL) in the front axles and 75W140 (AMSOIL) in the rear.. As been discussed, the front axles use barely 1 quart of fluid. As a general rule heavier grades, especially synthetics, manage the heat better as those differentials work overtime in 4x4 operation ( winter). I manage (do maintenance/mods) on three Broncos 2021, 2022, and my newest Badlands a 2023. The 2022 has been running the cited fluids and had no change in MPG.. Our Temps bounce up and down lately, Broncos keep “plowing” through ice and snow.. 4A works so much better than Big Bend 4X4… 🤓

We're getting hammered with lake effect snow this weekend in Buffalo, NY, so got a chance to test the Bronco. I use 4H in the constant deep stuff, otherwise I'm in 4A Slippery for the snow drifting conditions.

Probably because Slippery nerfs nearly everything. It's like if ECO mode and 4A had a baby.

Normal and 4A for me. I need the wheelspin to know what the limits are on a given surface.

Normal - but I'm in Phoenix.

If I had to deal with heavy snow, I'd use 4H. Then again, if I had to deal with snow I would have already thrown out the garbage factory tires.
