every car forum gives this advice >> Magnussen Moss act in the US

The reality is how deep are your pockets and how long can you fight Ford?

Here's an analogy. You owned a company and you create a product. You have many customers who buy the product and are happy BUT then one day you have a customer filing a warranty claim because some aspects of that product has broken. Upon inspection, it is clear that the product has been tampered with and thus no longer function within the original design specs.

what would you do as an owner of this company?
To be fair, the other 2/3rds of my reply that you didn't quote was explaining how easy it would be for a dealer to claim your lift broke pretty much anything that could fail on the truck.

Totally agree on deep pockets though -- you will almost certainly lose a legal battle against a large dealership holding company or Ford themselves in this area. And even if you do win, the cost of that fight will far outweigh the cost of the vehicle.

Well I did say I was a novice. What’s the concern with
Gosh. Seems to me that after you buy the aftermarket wheels, tires, and RC lift (not recommended by most who know about lifts), and install costs - you would have been better off upgrading to the Sasquatch for probably less money and FOR SURE a better suspension.

But I'm sure you had your reasons, and I respect that.

well I did say I was a novice. What’s the concern with with RC? Is it a quality thing with their products or what?

Yes. I currently own a 3" lifted 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (will give to my 16 year old when my new Bronco gets delivered in May), on 35's and 20" wheels.

As such, I've also been on many Jeep forums for years with conversations about lifts, etc.. The RC lifts are considered to the "budget-friendly" option and many end up replacing/upgrading these after a few years. If you plan on keeping your Bronco on the street or as a daily driver, then you should be ok. But if you plan to take it out and hit the hills, you'll experience a pretty stiff ride. Then eventually, you would need to replace, sooner than other brands.

Yup. Just as you replied I was digging into them some more. I don’t plan to do heavy off reading but I still prefer a quality product. So I might possibly do a return and explore other options.

Does the RC lift you purchased include shocks and springs? Again, there are many set up options.

My dealer is doing a 2" lift/level + 35s before I even pick up my bronco. It is being included in the deal.

I got the 3.5” kit that has new control arms as well as a couple other components that keeps the geometry close to normal. Didn’t do shocks and springs with them. I knew to at least not trust RC for those.

Although well within my capability to DIY a lift kit, I had the dealer do is specifically for the reason of warranty. Same dealer did my lowering kit on my Mustang and sure it cost a few bucks in labour but saves a headache down the road if I’m getting uneven tire wear or of something clearly suspension related breaks? My dealership does supercharger kits on some of their Mustangs and they’re all covered by Ford.

Legally, you can’t “void” a warranty by installing aftermarket parts just by virtue of installing them. This is protected under the Magnussen Moss act in the US.

However, if something fails after you install a mod, and the dealer/Ford can prove the mod contributed to the failure, then that repair will not be covered under warranty.

A lift is risky simply because it’s pretty easy for a dealership to say “no, your mods caused this failure” when anything suspension, drivetrain, or steering related fails. You’ve changed the geometry of the driveline, and that can easily cause extra wear on all those components.
Sooo, it will void the warranty.

he is right you know if you pay labor for any of the install you are really close to the sas price. I’m in the same boat but in my case I bought off the lot because I wanted it soon. My ideal build would be black Diamond sas.

No, you’d still have a warranty. They just probably won’t honor it for any parts the lift could’ve affected. If you remove the lift, for example, and they didn’t know one was ever installed, you’d still have a warranty to use.
