USB-C ports not working in front or back

Anyone else experience this? My local ford dealership looked at it and acknowledged the issue, said that Ford was aware, but there isn't a fix??

The phone connects through wireless CarPlay, but if I plug in via any outlet (front or back seats) to charge the phone it just connects and disconnects on a loop, which is both frustrating b/c I can't charge my phone but also when driving it just constantly flashes up on the screen "iPhone detected" every 10 seconds.

Really obvious question, but you’ve tried multiple cords, right?

EDIT: I had this issue with my iPhone in our Subaru and turned out to be the (brand new) non-Apple approved cords I got off Amazon. They worked fine with Android. Got an Apple website cord and all was good after that.

It might be worth a shot to try an Android phone to make sure it’s actually the ports and not a software thing specific to Apple Carplay.

Ahh that's a good idea. Don't have any droids in the house but I'll try it with a friends phone.

It's not a HUGE deal, it connects via wireless CarPlay, just annoying.

Before I got my Bronco, I had a similar problem with my iPhone on my 2015 Mazda, but it was the USB-A type. The weird part was the cable worked in the house on an outlet charger but not the car -- for a while. Then the cable stopped working on the house charger too. When I retried the new cable in the car, it worked! I never figured a phone cable would fail, but they do need to make contact electrically. Some connections are just more sensitive than others (Mazda vs house charger).

yea I've tried multiple cables though, 5 of them, they all have the exact same connection problem, so it can't be the cable at this point. Wish it was that easy!

Oh my!
I hope it's not your Bronco's USB-C connector that has the worn out contacts. Have you tried the other connectors?

Edit: I just re-read your post and see that you did try the other connections.

Just picked up a 25 outer banks and realized the usbc ports aren’t providing power. Thought it was the cables … haven’t had a ford in 15 years…not impressed. Maybe the Mexicans can build better?
