yea I've tried multiple cables though, 5 of them, they all have the exact same connection problem, so it can't be the cable at this point. Wish it was that easy!

Ahh that's a good idea. Don't have any droids in the house but I'll try it with a friends phone. It's not a HUGE deal, it connects via wireless CarPlay, just annoying.
