I have been reading a few of the topics here about upgrading etc, but it’s a lot and I have a pretty specific question.

I am upgrading all the speakers, wiring, adding a 1200W amp and a 10” subwoofer. That’s already in the process.

My question is, aside from the actual hardware upgrade, are there any other settings, changes, or upgrades I should consider to get the most of the audio set up?

As a note, I have the B&O audio

Look for an A2B amp - that gets the digital signal before the B&O DSP mangles it

If you don't replace the factory DSP with something, you've wasted a ton of money. The speaker upgrades will sound like shit, because they're going to be EQed for the factory speakers with no way to change it. (ie: you'll be amplifying stuff already crossed over for 4" speakers.)

I believe mobridge has an a2b interface that works with a separate amp. Not sure about other options, but you're definitely going to want to do something about that factory signal.

So I’ll need to add that A2B in addition to everything else?

Thank you for the help

Also, is that because it’s the B&O system?
The reason I went for this set up is because when I had a Badlands with the normal system, this is exactly what I did and everything sounded great.

Yup. B&O has a separate DSP the base system doesn’t have

That makes sense. I imagine the installer will want to know about this. I wonder if I should just cancel and return the items...

Yeah, the B&O is a pain in the dick. I ended up going for the mobridge plug and play conversion. It's pricey, but makes the upgrade simple. (And their customer service is excellent). If I could have gotten everything I wanted on the bronco without that B&O garbage, I would have done it in a second. The base system is way easier to work with.

I disagree. I’ve replaced all three speakers in the dash, the kick panel and went with the bigger pods and 6.5 speakers in the rear using good quality speakers all around and it sounds considerably better. More punch and deeper base. Not where I want it but it still is much better than stock. I do plan on replacing the amp with mobridge and replacing the sub but I was surprised at the improvement just the speakers made.

Good quality speakers will definitely be an improvement. But the upgrade to the 6.5s in the back is mostly wasted if they're not getting any lower frequencies than the 4" that were originally there.

I’m at a loss on what to do. On one hand, I already made the purchases for the speakers, amp, harness etc and have made the installation appointment. On the other, would it be better to return it all and start from scratch? Such a pain.
Thank you to all who are contributing to my confusion haha

i believe you can buy separate controllers to handle the A2b issues. I ended up with the Mobridge, but when I was looking at the Audio Control and JL Audio amps, I was told I would also need a processor to handle the A2B. They were only a couple hundred bucks..... It is doable
