Upgrading Big Bend Wheels

With 17 Jeeps behind me (actually I'm keeping one) I'm picking up my first Bronco. Main reason...Price. Bronco's have dramatically better lease deals right now. Jeep has to wake up!
Anyways....I take delivery of my 4 DR Big Bend next week and I want to swap out the stock tires to 3-Peak rated tires because of where I live and the annual snow fall. I'm keeping the stock rims.

So I want to swap the 255/70/17 to at least 265/70/17. Has anyone picked a wider tire on that stock rim? Any issues I may need to know about? I don't need 35s, but I wouldn't mind a wider tire than 255.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My son runs 285's on the stock Big Bend wheels without issue. Crash bars still on the Bronco.

I swapped mine out to 285/70R17 on the stock rims. Fits just fine.

3 peak is a nearly worthless standard.
Buy tires you know will perform well.
Buy them from a local merchant in case of issues.

You can easily jump up to a 285 wide tire, and probably wider with ZERO issues unless you intend to aggressively stuff them into the wheel wells.

For reference, you can run a 35" tire on your factory wheel with no lift, no issues for street driving.

I did 275 from 255, on 18s, and its perfect at pnly 51 lb per E rated Firestone Destination XT which balanced with minimal weight, have a great quiet ride, and are excellent in snow, slush, standing water, and all other warm conditons.

I think about any 33r12.50 and smaller tire will fit all non Sasquatch broncos with out issues…wider tires may have issues with upper control arms on stock offset wheels but 33 or less diameter should not matter…good luck!

I don't have an issue swapping them back. I can write it off as a corporate expense.
